If you are considering the Monk's unarmed strike damage and the proper feats a Tetori would do quite nicely. If you are staying within Monk then Tetori is your best bet.
Greater Grapple allows you to maintain a grapple as a move action.
Rapid Grappler allows you to maintain as a swift action fi you have maintained as a move.
Dragon Style and Ferocity grant 2x STR on the first unarmed strike damage and 1.5 STR on all strikes after the first.
Snapping Turtle Style chain makes a good defensive grappler.
Neck Breaker relies on Stunning Fist attempts and grappling but has devastating effects when it succeeds.
If you start your turn as the dominant grappler you can maintain twice as a move action and once as a swift action, giving you the option to deal your unarmed strike damage 3 times to your target.
The most damaging grappler I've ever pieced together would be a Brutal Pugilist Barbarian.

I've never seen a tetori get dragon style before? Would that work? How do tetoris deal damage at the mid to higher levels? The turtle styles look great to get grapples but as far as dishing out the damage I'm confused.

Since it has not been mentioned a Brawler does pretty decent at grappling and would have flexibility enough to do OK in other situations where grappling is not effective. Strangler gets Sneak attack damage while grappling to damage or to Pin. They do not take the negatives for the grappled condition, and they get a sleeper hold and Neckbrecker moves.
Not the best but because they can do more beyond just grappling I think it is a worthy mention. Martial Flexibility is a decent ability.

get the throat-slicer feat, you can coup de grace opponents with your unarmed strike after you pin them in a grapple
I've never seen that feat! You would need Greater Grapple to pull it off as the grappler but that's awesome!
@Atalius
Let's look at a level 15 Tetori, that's when he gains Constrict.
For this ideal build we will go with an 18 STR and the feats Improved Grapple, Greater Grapple, Dragon Style, Dragon Ferocity and Rapid Grappler and NO magic items.
For this example you are not in a grapple and all check are considered successful.
Attack action(Standard)Unarmed Strike 2d6+8_Ki point Grab_Initiate Grapple(Free)_Constrict 2d6+6.
Maintain Grapple_Damage 2d6+6(Move-Greater Grapple)_Constrict 2d6+6
Maintain Grapple_Damage 2d6+6(Swift-Rapid Grappler)_Constrict 2d6+6
Total damage output: 12d6+38
Average Damage: 80
Min/Max Damage: 50/110

I've played a character like this, and it can be pretty effective. Rock a high strength and use a pick or other high crit multiplier weapon, then take Dirty Fighter, Improved Grapple, Grabbing Style, Throat Slicer and Greater Grapple, Rapid Grappler when you can.
This lets you grapple with one hand with no penalty, pin them, swift do damage (with sneak attack) and then next round use Throat Slicer.
I also used Martial Flexibility to grab the Bushwhack feat.

I'd suggest using a Synthesist Summoner. Get a serpentine body so you can get the "Grab" + "Constrict" evolutions. The wording on Constrict is pretty open to interpretation, but I believe it works best using Vital Strike feats.
Constrict (Ex)
Source: PRG:APG
An eidolon gains powerful muscles that allow it to crush those it grapples. Whenever the eidolon successfully grapples a foe using the grab evolution, it deals additional damage equal to the amount of damage dealt by the attack used by the grab evolution. This evolution is only available to eidolons of the serpentine base form.
Vital Strike on an attack, free CMB check to Grab, automatically Constrict for Vital Strike damage, free action release before next attack, rinse and repeat.
