Help my Trex has parished

Rise of the Runelords

My Trex has just been slain in Thistletop mountain we are level 3. Is there anywhere around or in Sandpoint where I can find someone who can cast raise animal companion? It has been 12hrs since he's parished. Any help greatly appreciated.

Did he register at the local church?

We are still in Thistletop heading back to town shortly. Any suggestions?

Grand Lodge

The best bet you'll have is finding someone in Magnimar, that level spell is way out of Sandpoint's price range.

Why are you asking this question here? Why are you not asking your GM? There are only two possibilities - either your character (or one of his allies/contacts) would know/your GM is happy to tell you OR your character doesn't know/your GM isn't going to tell you (most likely because your character would have no way of knowing.) If the former is true, whatever answer your GM would give you will be vastly superior to any answer you can get here and if the latter is true, posting a question here is cheating. And just for fun carries the risk that any as-written, according to canon answer you might get here may not be true in your GM's version of Golarion. And your GM might make it false just to spite your posting to the board in the first place.

Player: We need to go to Magnimar immediately so I can find a 9th level druid to cast raise animal companion
GM: what makes you think that is where you can find such a druid?
Player: I posted a question on the RotRL thread!
GM: Really, that's... interesting.
(Sometime later)
GM: Sorry but after spending two days journeying to Magnimar and 5 days searching you can find no druid capable of casting the spell in Magnimar. And remember for every day past 9 you need to find a higher level druid. It's shocking, I know, but No, high level druids do not dwell in the largest city in a 300 mile radius.

As Latrecis said, this is really something you have to ask your GM. Playing a TT RPG isn't like playing a video game where you can ask the community for hints to solve a particular issue. For video games, the experience is going to be identical for each person (and the answers are in the code, as it were) where in a TT RPG the experience is dependent on the story your GM and group want to tell and the answers are all up to your GM.

Your GM may use the books exactly, or they may change things here and there to make things flow better or emphasize certain aspects of the AP. And even if the GM is going exactly by the book, the book doesn't contain everything. From time to time, they're going to have to make a judgement call (such as if and where someone capable of raising an animal companion lives) and even someone who has played or run RotRL a dozen times won't know for sure what your GM will decide.

See, if I were the DM, I'd let him find someone more than willing to 'raise' his AC in magnimar; but it would be a necromancer posing as a druid, and his AC would become a zombie Trex. Whoops!

Glad to see that I was not the only one to have this reaction.

A gentle repose spell (cleric 2), will preserve the corpse while you look for a druid, for 1 day/lvl of the casting cleric, which doesn't count against the raise animal companion deadline...

but animal companions at this level are pretty expendable - go train yourself a nice Tiger or something.
