So I've always wanted to find a good cheap (in terms of investment) way for a wizard to get a good standard action that doesn't need to be a spell every round. Coin shot seems good (get a wand) my question is this:
Coin shot says that it is a simple thrown weapon, as a thrown weapon do you get your strength to damage?

Been unclear on that too. So strength applies to attacks with Magic Stone and Coin Shot?
They're being thrown or slung, and the spell description doesn't say to vary from normal procedure by not adding Str, so....
Mind you, I can see the common-sense argument for why it shouldn't add, especially for coin shot. It's just that AFAICT the writers didn't bother to stipulate it, and RAW are RAW.

Just learned there's a PFS clarification that
The coin shot spell does not apply the caster's ability modifier (for most characters, Strength) to damage.
So if you're in PFS, never mind what I said before. And if you're not in PFS, your GM still might want to take that into consideration.
