First time playing in PFS. Need some help with a build.

Advice

I was invited to join a PFS....circle? Group? Lodge? I'm not fully hip to the whole rules and regulations yet, but I know that the building rules are a little rougher than just casual play.

Let's say I wanted to build an Alchemist, that may eventually end up in Master Chymist. If I wanted to build something playable with the fewest books possible (I readily admit I am more of the "SRD is god" mentailty,) what are some of the ways to potentially go about that?

I was looking into Tengu as a race, but I can be swayed to go elsewhere if a better idea is brought up.

You'll start with Core and Advanced Player's Guide if you're building an Alchemist. Master Chymist is also Advanced Player's Guide. Tengu is Advanced Race Guide, so that brings your book count to three.

For equipment, you'll probably want to invest into Ultimate Equipment, and Alchemy Manual is a nice addition for the Alchemist class toolbox too.

For spells, Advanced Class Guide, Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic are good to bulk out your extract list. Inner Sea Gods is also must-have by the time you reach 3rd level extracts, since Channel Vigor is too damned good not to have.

If you stick with a Core race, such as Elf, then you only have to have two books. You can add more books later if you want. There are more optimal builds, but you can get by with just the Core Book and Advanced Players Guide.

I forgot to mention I also have access to Horror Adventures, if that makes any suggestions a little more enticing. I think I am leaning a little more towards Half-orc for my racial choice at this junction, since that FCB is pretty tasty good.

Play the first 2-3 sessions with a pregen character. Then build the character you want at the level 2 rework so you will get a feel for how it is going.

Not to mention the benefits of coming in with a fully decked out Level 2 character with roughly 1500gp and roughly 6 PP.

The Pre gens offer gear you can use and abuse and not eat at your WBL till you know exactly what your playing and have gold to properly equip them.

Slight necro on my own thread.....

If I decided on a natural attack build, what feats and discoveries should I be considering the most? I know I need Feral Mutagen, but I am at a loss otherwise. Assume that I run with a half-orc for the race, and again trying to keep the book count on the somewhat lower side.

Thinking by level 12, since that seems to be when PFS usually stops, I would be an (as of now) un-archetyped Alchemist 8/Master Chymist 4.

An Amulet of Mighty Fists is good for a natural attacker, and gets better the more attacks you have. You may also find it helpful to check some of the guides for your class as you plan your build.

Also! Bring your own healing (Wands of CLW are good). You can't guarantee anyone else in your party will have it, so it's best to do at least a minimal investment in your own health.

Silver Crusade

The Spontaneous Healing Discovery is helpful; it activates automatically if you fall unconscious. Infusion is always useful if you can fit it in.
