I know that the playtest was not canon or even in anyway official, but it featured a dwarf solarian. Will dwarves be available in Starfinder? If not, will there be con boons for playing the previous Pathfinder core races in Starfinder?
Because I totally want to do a gnome in space. And it would tickle me to see people madly trading for dwarf Starfinder boons.
Hmm
We don't know. I imagine that the six core races from Pathfinder will become like many of the ARG races in PFS now.
Shaking the magic 8-Ball gives me "All signs point to yes."
Now don't get me wrong. I am looking forward to Lashuntas and Ysoki -- so cute! I'm just looking forward to what some of the race boons might be...
Hmm
I can't imagine that the standard fantasy races would be disallowed.
Looks like they are in the Core book, according to todays blog

As we've somewhat alluded to in the past, we're looking at various different ways of making as many races as possible available for player use. Expect to hear some further news on this in the future, but for now, feel free to keep speculating—seeing what players want is something that really helps.

It's nice to know that we'll be able to have gnomes in space. Honestly, gnomes want to go anywhere dangerous, so it just makes sense! I will likely try out Lashunta, Ysoki or Android characters early, but I don't want to say goodbye to my other friends from the fantasy core races, either.
Thanks for letting us know about this. It might be fun to see Kitsune and Tengu in space too. They're tricksy, and it would be nice if some of them were still active!
Hmm
I want to see catfolk....there are so many cool Catfolkish sci fi minis to be inspired by.

I hope they are all here, even, it's happening in space. I'm anticipating some players that may ask why the Core race of Pathfinder are not there.

Someone needs to get on creating a porcine based playable race. This in no way is related to my desire to name a character Dr. Strangepork. None.
Chop chop!
When Starfinder first got announced, I asked for the Squealies. We already know there are space goblins... Why not intelligent space pigs? I would totally play one.
Hiiiiiiiiiiii-ya!
Hmm

Isn't that the half-orc?
Would be interesting for some David Brin to make it in.
What if orcs had an event that happened during the gap analogous to what happened to the Klingons only in this case they reverted to their more classic 1E/2E era pig nosed selves. I'll get a grippli fired up for a full on Pigsss innnnn spaceeeeeeee
I would love to see more nonhumanoid races. Like even an ooze or swarm race.

OH you're gonna get them, you're gonna get them right up your hinder.

What? Wolf, haven't you learned yet that all stories start with "What does this button do?"

every gnome wears a red shirt in starfinder
Aren't the Pathfinder Core races going to be included in the Starfinder core book? I remember hearing that somewhere, so I'm assuming they'll be okay.

Hmm wrote: What? Wolf, haven't you learned yet that all stories start with "What does this button do?" Welp, that's going to solve the Gap mystery: Gnome Scientist "I've created a button." Gnome President "But what does it do?" Gnome Scientist "Well..."
Hmm wrote: What? Wolf, haven't you learned yet that all stories start with "What does this button do?" My gnome demonstrated this quite admirably during a chapter of Iron Gods - she ended up doing more damage to the party than the enemies did. The life oracle was not amused...
