PFS mad bomber gotten bored

Advice

So I have a PFS alchemist with two games at 8

full mad bomber, good dex and int, smoke, stink, tangle, fast bombs, force bombs(through a retrain) etc
toss on clever wordplay diplo to help with a good bit of social checks

Things had gotten a bit stale prior to 8, but then at 8 it was worse: throw lots of bombs, things all dead - who cares about a rider when things are all dead

I'm looking for suggestions of anything I can do to vary his gameplay a bit more. I thought about taking finesse at 9 since I can use monstrous physique extracts, but this high I feel that the high hitpoints and frequent damage reduction will make that a bad idea

What can I do besides shelve him or just GM him out to pasture?

You're not having fun being effective? Shelve him and play a core rouge, you'll have to fight tooth and nail to get your DPR to a good spot AND you won't really be able to do much more out of combat than a really smart commoner.

On a more serious note that may actually help you though. Try picking up discoveries that let you do more than blow stuff up, as you seem to be doing that well enough already. Try infusion to start, it turns you into a party buffer. It always feels good to be told "Thanks for the buff!".

Also, if you're not already roleplaying try doing so a little harder. Try crafting a really unuiqe personality for your character. I have a earth kineticist in pfs right now that manifests his 5 CHA with a barely intelligible southern accent, hell of a fun thing to play.

That's the alchemist's schtick: throw lots of bombs, blow s~#+ up. did you expect different?

I have a 9 Grenadier Alchemist, and i still have fun playing him.
I only have Explosive Bombs, Frost Bombs, Shock Bombs, and Fast Bombs.

I do agree with Derp's idea of taking new Discovery's or Extracts to "spice up" your alchemist.
I'm working toward Syringe Strige discovery and trying to hide it in a Wasp Swarm via Vomit Swarm.

that is what I expected, however it has gotten old. Literally every combat is throw bomb til dead, and almost all the tables I've ended up at with this guy are combat ones.

Handing someone an infusion so they can be a gargoyle or something might be entertaining I suppose, but it's not really giving a new choice for my turns

Alchemist is by far my favorite class! They have so much that they can do, and you can get pretty creative with it.

I made my PFS Alchemist into a super tank with a Protector Archetype Hedgehog (+2 will is nice) Tumor familiar, went for Spontaneous Healing and Healing Touch, Preserve Organs (x2), and Mummification. I have other tricks too due to bombs and extracts. Primarily use Strength Mutagen (Ragechemist), and go to town.

Infusions will allow you to be more supportive for the party, but if you want new things for your turns instead of "bomb everything", look into your mutagen ability (if you still have it). It allows you to do a different form of attack and itself has little investment to do so. Buy a couple of Admixture Vials for 1st turn buffs and a shiny weapon and go into melee. Get a vestigal arm that holds a potion in it at all times to save on action economy (use alchemical allocation extract and a potion of heroism for an hour of awesome buffs).

You have lots of access to discoveries that make potions more useful, so that's a solid option for late level alchemist. (Edit: I guess you're technically a mid-level alchemist, late level in PFS terms)

Make your character less specialised. Grab things like dispel, blinding, confusion, spell knowledge, Syringe Stirge, etc.

Set up the fight so other people can do damage. This is my favourite way to play. Then if they fail nova some bombs.

hmm I didn't know about spell knowledge(would need to snag pdf to use)

thoughts about good picks on that? for now I'd be confined to a lvl 1 spell right?

Weapon finesse + agile amulet it a perfectly reasonable way to go if you want to change it up. Charda is the go to form I believe. I usually wait to grab second level wizard spells. If youre really bored you can dip for better melee.
