So... Can a half-elf psychic with the dragon soul alternate racial trait target a dragon with greater mind swap?

And, related... Could an Aasimar target a Deva? A Tiefling a Succubus?

Hrk messed up. No the traits do not make you the same race as the targets.

To elaborate:

Tieflings and Aasimars are native outsiders which is entirely separate from proper outsiders like devas and succubi (outsider (good/evil) so they're right out.

Dragon soul just makes you count as a dragon for stuff that happens to target you. You're still not a dragon as far as mind swap is concerned.

Agree with Tarik but for slightly different reasons. Greater Mind Switch targets something of the same RACE, not TYPE. You have the dragon type for purposes of the spell, but you need a specific race of dragon, (e.g. Red, Silver, Imperial, Void, etc.) which this trait doesn't provide.

Would it be possible, if somehow polymorphed into a dragon and able to cast spells normally, to use greater mind swap to make them stuck in your temporarily-a-dragon body?

Nope, as polymorph spells don't actually change your type.

Better yet. What if a half elf uses paragon surge to temporarily have racial heritage (giant).

To me, it would seem that to be possible, but it would lock the soul to inhabit only giants from then on. Right?
