Advanced races(Vishkanyas)

In PFS is there any restriction on playing as a special race like Vishkanyas? I'm building a ranger but don't want to build then find out its not allowed

Sorry, you need a (probably gained from dming at a convention) boon to play a vishanka

Guide for newbies

BNW is correct, such a boon was given out quite some time ago but you might be able to trade for one of you earn player or GM boons.

On the positive side, there are quite a number of legal race options in the current season so you might find something that works for you.

I wouldn't call within the last year (well, specifically season 7) "quite some time ago." Though, to be fair to your point, I don't believe that race is being handed out this season.

If you PM me with your address I can mail you one of my extra Vishkanya Boons =)

I don't think Vishkanya proved to be a really popular race, so there'll be a few boons floating around yet. I'm thinking about a Bladed Brush swashbuckler for mine though. Really venomous art critic.

My u-rogue has been a lot of fun to play. I lucked into a scenario where the history of the region involved "snake-like" people enslaving the region so that was a lot of fun for me.

I'm playing my Vishkanya UnRogue in her first PbP currently. I have good hopes for her. But it took me a while to find a concept I was comfortable with. I'd already played a snake-themed Nagaji to 13.2 and wanted this to be different.

I thought about running one as mine as a vigilante for a while.

The stylishly dressed woman inspects the psycho-killer's obsession shrine, noting trophies - locks of hair, an earring, even a carefully preserved tattoo. And there are figurative works as well: sketches of past and future victims arranged around an inchoate statue. She asks a single question.

"Yes, but is it art?"

I have a bloodrager/vigilante vishkanya. A magical child vigilante, to be precise. The bloodrager level is for the weapon proficiencies and the "this isn't even my final form" factor bloodrage gives.

Hiss, boo, groan.

Hahahaha awesome. What is this character's superhero vigilante identity?

Their public persona is "Kimothy" Shan Yínzhēn, a quiet but sharp-tongued gentleman scribe with surprisingly cunning ways to get information out of people despite being a fish out of water in the Inner Sea. Their vigilante identity is the Black Lotus, a mysterious yet oddly flashy woman from distant Tian Xia with a tendency to nickname everyone and everything and a sharp quip and venomous blade for every battle. Together, they fight crime! (And also poke fun at other characters for making assumptions about Tien culture. Their "common Inner Sea name", Kimothy, is intentionally chosen by them to make them sound like they're only vaguely familiar with Inner Sea customs. They build up the "stranger in a strange land" and "I just work for these adventurer bozos" act from there.)

I'm thinking Snakebite Striker for mine, probably with a little bit of URogue.

My Vishkanya is a Eldritch Scion Magus.

What's funny- at the time i got my Boon, i was volunteering at Emerald City Comic'Com, the guy who organized volunteers asked if we'd rather have the race boon or a recharge boon. unanimous: race boon.

Sovereign Court 4/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Netherlands—Leiden

Well, no Bladed Brush :(

I guess my vishkanya boon is going back on the shelf.
