PFS Race Question

Rules Questions

I've never played pfs before, & had a question. Is Kasatha a legal race? Just want a straight answer, not a link to the additional resources.

Nope. :-)

RIP me. Well, are there any other multi-armed races?

The allowed races without a specific boon, I believe are.

Dwarf
Elf
Gnome
Halfling
Half-Elf
Half-Orc
Human
Kitsune
Nagaji
Tengu
Wayang
Ifrit
Oread
Sylph
Undine
Suli (?)

Not 100% sure on Suli, but I believe so.

It's pretty unlikely that there will ever be a boon for playing a 20RP 4 armed space alien.

Like there's a lot of things that will be given race boon before that will, and IIRC race boons are only handed out to GMs at major conventions.

Dark Archive

All of the standard races have multiple arms.

I think Suli still requires a boon.

Why do I hate playing regular races...

I was of this state of mind for most of my first decade of RPGs. Humans were boring (I play one IRL), and it seemed that elves, dwarves, halflings, etc. had already been overdone.

I wanted to play goblins and centaurs and gargoyles.

That really took a turn after I started Pathfinder. The in-world cultures and history of Golarion's Humans is super in depth. The regular races have drive and motivation.

Read up on some of the Human ethnicities, if you haven't already. They may give you cause to try one out.

Where do I find the human ethnicities?

Sczarni

Inner Sea World Guide is probably the best.

I think others touch on them as well.

Varisia, Birthplace of Legends covers the Shoanti really well.

Sovereign Court

Nefreet makes a good point about "boring" races being rescued when designers write interesting background material for them.

But if you still want 3+ arms, alchemists can grow them.

Plus by limiting access to the "exotic" races you actually do make them feel special, and avoid the "man, sure are a lot of Tieflings in this room" problem.

There are way more elves, humans, dwarves, gnomes, and halflings on Golarion than there are Gillmen, Grippli, Aasimar, Monkey Goblins, Changelings etc. It's not entirely unreasonable to want the adventuring party to sometimes show that.

just be a human wizard... and when you grow up you can have 6 arms and 4 heads... Magic Jar. The extra feat and skill points from being a human will help *<8^0
