So,
A couple nights ago, I was in a car accident. I was a passenger, we were struck by a semi. The driver, my best friend, is fine. A couple broken teeth a nasty gash but he was able to walk away.
I wasn't so lucky.
At the moment I'm confined to a bed. I can't sit up or use my legs. Sucks to be me.
We don't know how long this situation will last, we need to wait for the swelling to go down. It hurts and is the opposite of fun.
I don't have a laptop or tablet, but I do have a phone and a PS4 connected to a TV.
I'm ungodly bored.
So shoot me some recommendations. I feel like I'm going nuts here. :(

I've just had ligament and joint repair on an ankle and I've been off my feet for a week or two now, nowhere near as bad as your predicament I'm sorry to hear.
I'm playing final fantasy 15 and curiously am liking it a lot, takes a couple of hours to get into.
Just finished reading "the shadow of what was lost" by James Islington - thoroughly enjoyed that.

Uncharted, the entire series (4 games) might take a while.
Dragon Age: Inquisition could be a time sink as also the New Deus Ex.
Minecraft can be found on the PS4 if you like that stuff, and if you do, that in and of itself can have you spend hundreds to thousands of hours on that game alone.
On Man's Sky is an endless game, though it get's rather samey and boring for many.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I can appreciate the loss of mobility and independence when you have a broken bone (or worse in your case).
I'm really enjoying reading Guy Gavriel Kay. He often writes low or medium fantasy style (ie, there aren't elves and dragons and spells slung about, most of the time) but there IS magic in the world, albeit more rare. His writing quality is truly excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his works to anyone. So far I have read Tigana, the Fionavar Tapestry (trilogy), the Saratine Mosaic (duology, in book two now).
Rest well.

Heh well my funds are limited so I'd like to stick with movies, books, etc.
As to my situation it's improving so, I mean, it may just be swelling and muscle damage. That's the hope.
At the moment I'm just taking it hour by hour.
I loved the Dresden books, loved the original Shannara books. Loved everything the DCAU ever kicked out.
Big fan of action films. Die Hard is a Christmas classic. Anything with Samurai or Ninja gets a glance.
Just, like I said, bored.

The Thief of Always (Clive Barker) is a good short read. It was written intended as a children's book, although the only content that truly changed to account for that was the length and some of the vocabulary. Given some of the horror aspects of the book, most people I know who read it debate if it's acceptable for children. I mean, I read it as a child, and look what happened to me.
I'm fond of Gregory Maguire, he rewrites a lot of old fairy tales into slightly more gruesome versions, and is responsible for the book Wicked. My favorite from him is Lost, which is one of his less Fantasy related works, amusingly enough.
You'll almost definitely enjoy most things written by Neil Gaiman or Ursula Vernon. Gaiman wrote Neverwhere, which runs vaguely along the lines of urban fantasy, like Dresden Files does. Albeit with a much more surreal tone. Vernon has a printed book of her webcomic Digger, that I'm told is amazing, and I keep trying to find the time to read.
Despite the controversy that surrounded them, Phillip Pullman's His Dark Material's (The Golden Compass) trilogy was an enjoyable read, even if it did get... wierd... towards the end.
If you're in the mood for it, Ben Thompson writes incredibly hyperbolic accounts of historic battles and people in a comedic style. I've been giving them to my siblings to get them started reading about history. His book Badass Ultimate Deathmatch is one of the better ones in his set, even if it has some of the worse editing for spelling. He also runs a website with free articles in the same fashion that you can read from your phone. Here.
On the off chance you get in a non-fiction mood. My go-to recommendation of the month is Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. It can get dry, but it's an anthropologists approach at determining how international inequality happened over time. I like the premise well enough, even if I can't agree with all of the arguments presented.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hopefully you can recover quickly.
Here are some suggestions, starting with the feel-goods (since you seem to have enough feel-bad in your life at the moment):
Sweetness and Lightning is an episodic slice-of-life about a recently-widowed father learning to cook "real" meals for his kindergarten-aged daughter. It's heartfelt and adorable.
Flying Witch is an extremely low-key show that's probably best described as a modernization of the old "Bewitched" series but with less conflict.
Natsume's Book of Friends is about a modern guy who was born with the ability to see and interact with the fairy-tale creatures that exist everywhere while normal people are none the wiser, and how he tries to go about having a normal-ish life in spite of that fact. It's not so cute as Sweetness and Lightning and not quite as mellow as Flying Witch, but it's still fairly low-key and "comfy" despite relatively frequent bittersweet episodes.
If you're down for some less "soft" material (perhaps sharing some pain would be cathartic?) then here are some other options:
Orange is a quiet but deep slice-of-life about a girl who gets a letter from herself from ten years in the future, asking her to change a list of regrets. WARNING: Deals frankly with teen suicide.
Re:ZERO is about a boy who is inexplicably transported to a fantasy world, and in less than a day is brutally murdered. Then he discovers that whenever he dies, he "resets" to a previous point in time to try again. Gets pretty dark at times (both visually via brutal violence, and emotionally with grief, loss, despair, etc).
All of the above are available for free on Crunchyroll.com.
Hope that helps you out. :)

Can you get NetFlix or Youtube on a PS 4? That is a huge source of time passing activities. You can watch all kinds of series like Twin Peaks, Star Trek, etc. When I was all laid up a couple of years ago, I spent a fair amount of time on World of Warcraft. That was a really sweet way to escape my situation.
I think Darkest Dungeon is available on PS4! That is a great, turn-based game that might be perfect for your situation. I would recommend slower turn based games, rather then first person shooters and other action games that might be tension/stress inducing.
My last suggestion is to make use of what your anesthesiologist has to offer. They might not have much for boredom, but they can make you feel all kinds of amazing things, or just sleep a lot. Normally, I don't recommend those kinds of drugs, but your current situation is the exception.
Also, good luck to your friend! I've had lots of dental issues, so both of you have my deepest sympathies.
Where are you located? If you are anywhere near Westchester NY, I'll come and poke you with a stick!

PS4 has access to Netflix, and has a browser as well.
If you like Terry Brooks, try David Eddings or Brandon Sanderson.
Another book series you might give a shot at is by James A. Corey with the first book called Leviathan rising (and has the TV show called the Expanse based on it if you are looking for something to watch).

Have you read the Discworld series?
Maybe the Barsoom series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. You can find them on PROJECT GUTENBERG

LOL
Georgia actually.
Today I'm resting at my friend's home. He and his wife are tending me. Next week we do more tests and I get to be prepped for surgery.
Wish I could sit up proper so I could somehow use my computer. I was in the middle of editing my novel and semi wreck or not I want to get it to a literary agent.
They have, however, supplied me with a crazy high prescription of Norco though so I can assure you I'm not feeling much pain at the moment. LOL

I just spotted this thread. All I can say is I hope that you get better soon. I will be rooting for you. I will look through my collection of anime and games and books tonight and list a few more. Good luck and get better soon!
Edit - Anything by Robert A. Heinlein, Piers Anthony, Alan Dean Foster, David Brin, Robert Asprin, Anne MCCaffrey, Ben Bova, Greg Bear, Marion Zimmer Bradley, just to name a few good authors.
Edit # 2 - Where in Georgia are you? I am in Savannah myself.

I am pleased to report that, while I can't walk due to the bones/muscles, I have regained feeling in my legs.
They hurt. A lot. Though I can feel em.
That is really good news! (The feeling part, not the pain thing.)
Here is a thread about movies that don't require a lot of brain power.
Hang in there, and don't be squeamish about the painkillers and stuff. Situations like yours are what they were invented for.
Best of luck with the surgeries and a fast recovery!

Dragonlance Chronicles (if you have not yet read them, three books, kills lots of time, three of my favorite fantasy books of all time)
TES V: Skyrim, TES are know to eat peoples lives, I uhhh....know this personally...Fus!!
Planescape Torment, IMO the best D&D ERPG (electronic roleplaying game), despite it's age, the detail and thought that went in really shine, and it is cheap due to it;s age, and if you get it from GOG.com, it comes already mounted for emulation purposes, no fuss, no muss. Dak'kon says "Endure, and in enduring, grow strong!"

Can't really do any gaming. I can't properly sit up yet and one leg has to remain elevated at all times. I can do some PS3/4 Gaming though thanks to my friend's systems.

Oh yeah. As soon as I could afford the painkillers once I was at home I got 'em. Tried to tough it out but that wasn't going to work.
Now I have a pill that I greatly look forward to every 4-6 hours. It's nice though because it doesn't impact my ability to think, just takes the edge off.
I also have a 2nd prescription that is way stronger that I'll pick up when I can afford it for if the pain spikes (and it's done that once or twice)
But I can tell you, in my case, feeling pain is an improvement. When they went in to repair my left knee they freed the nerve that had become compressed I guess. Was both not fun but joyous at the same time.

The Dr. Who Christmas Specials are always good for a light-hearted romp, especially the newest one. "The Return of Dr. Mysterio." Save for this one, the rest are on Amazon Prime.
Since you have Hulu, I might suggest the Gerry Anderson Collection.
The Gerry Anderson collection is great!

I know it's been over a week since the last response, but would you take suggestions for music albums? If so, what genre?
Never saw this reply. I'm more of a parody buff.
And yeah, still mostly confined to bed.
The biggest problem right now is that wheelchairs are very expensive. I'm making due with a temp one I borrowed but it's not really sized for me so after a couple hours it's painful. The doc also wants me to stay horizontal as much as possible.
So, yeah, more ideas are welcome because I've burned through like everything on Netflix and Hulu.
Powerless was pretty fun on Hulu tho.

I second RWBY. It's a great show, although it won't take you long to get through it. It may also take you a few episodes to fall in love with the animation.
Angel Beats and Clannad are two anime series done by the same company. Angel Beats is newer, and thus looks nicer. They are both heavy on the feels, but Angel Beats is 13 episodes compared to Clannad's two seasons. They both also have plenty of comedy to make up for the sad stuff. They're kinda like The Pet Girl of Sakarasou, in that respect.
Code Geass is a really good (read: fantastic) strategy/mech anime.
What do you tend to enjoy watching?
With regards to books, David Eddings and Brandon Sanderson are both great authors.

I like a good mix.
