Sipping Jacket & Extracts- does it work?

Sipping Jacket says it can store a potion for a day.

Can an Alchemist/Inquisitor store an extract in the Sipping Jacket?

While they do have similarities, extracts are not potions. The sipping jacket works with potions, not extracts.

Yeah, even if a GM wanted to extend it to extracts, they should likely cap the allowed extract level to 3, just like the cap on potion creation. Even then there's a lot of personal 1 rd/level extracts that would work very (too?) well with a sipping jacket.

technically, I'd say a sipping jacket is a legit place of storage for an extract, so long as it remains uninterrruptedly withing the alchemist's aura... as soon as he takes the jacket off, the extract goes inert. Of course, this does not allow him to have more extracts ready than his level allows for. So while it is possible, there is no specific advantage to doing so.

i figured it wouldn't as well, it still counts as an "active extract".

I'm just asking because it would be a bit more viable to store my curative extracts than spend money for potions.

in my Alchemist's last adventure, the Sipping Jacket with CMW saved his life on a few occasions.

Going by strict RAW, no, as extracts are not potions.

Well, remember that the sipping jacket also allows you to get more use out of the extract.

From the item:
If the potion’s duration is measured in rounds, the wearer can activate the coat as a swift action to gain the potion’s benefits for 1 round, repeating as desired each round until the potion’s entire duration has been used. So if you have a 1 round/level spell like bomber's eye, you can make it last all day by only using a round of the extract on a round when you actually throw a weapon.

Yup, extracts like vanish and targeted bomb admixture would work really well. Channel Vigor, greater invisibility...

Extracts are potion-like, they are not potions.

The same logic applies as to why extracts cannot be used with the Accelerated Drinker trait.

As a house rule, if you want to allow it, sure. But RAW, it doesn't work, and it's a good thing it doesn't, because it would be much too strong.

Yes, we know, the discussion is predicated on the GM houseruling that extracts work. At the very minimum, I would recommend limiting it to 3rd level extracts. It should also probably be limited to non-personal range extracts, which would take care of the most abusive extracts.
