PFS Kineticist - Rock Chucker / Lightning Hucker Build Advice

I am trying to put together a Kineticist tonight instead of watching the election results.

I am hoping to throw fiery hunks of rocks and the occasional lightning plasma ball and I need some helpful tips.

I have been reading the class abilities over and over and I am still fuzzy on exactly how everything works but I am getting a better handle on it.

One of my questions is what should my Feat progression be? I assume I will want Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot, and then most likely weapon focus for my kinetic blasts. But, after those what should I be looking at that will increase my damage output?

Statwise, I am going Constitution, Dexterity, and Wisdom. My initial elemental focus will be Geokinesis, and then probably Aerokinesis.

I am hoping for some tips on a PFS build that emulates a Jedi/Sith combination of Earth thrower and lightning slinger.

Any and all tips are appreciated!


I'm not normally a fan of toughness as a feat, but this class really needs it. Burn offsets any health benefits from having high con. When at full burn you are similar in health to a class that dumped con to 8.

Weapon finesse is fairly important if you want to use a melee form.

If you plan to get and use eruption or similar form infusions, you don't need precise shot (well once you have the infusion).

extra infusion is pretty good, but it's better the later you can take it.

If allowed (which I don't think it is) ability focus is a good stat for kineticists.


Actually increasing your damage output is hard beyond the stuff you've already mentioned - intentional design, I think. Delay Blast will sometimes let you get one more attack in if you can set it up before combat.

If you take kinetic blade, kinetic whip & weapon finesse you may want combat reflexes as well.


I am not imagining this to be a melee build. I am wanting to stand back at range and huck dirt at the bad guys.

Toughness makes sense as a choice.

I think the Con, Dex, Wis focus is good. The other stats don't really matter to a kineticist, and so much of their power comes from their stats.
