Help with far strike monk

Advice

Hello!

Hello everyone recently i have made a far strike monk (lvl1)
my dm has ruled that i cant flurry in melee with my thrown weapons (so no trident melee flurry) so i have come here to get some advice on what i should pick for feats and builds

I'm a half orc (+2 wis) with plans of making and flurrying with alchemical items like alch fire and such.

My chosen weapon is the rope dart (free action to pull it back)

My feats are point blank shot and precise shot

My skills are acrobatics, perception, craft alchemy, climb and stealth.

Traits are hedge magician (5% cheaper to make items) and second chance (reroll a failed save check 1 per day)

So ya any ideas or builds?

I nearly read that as your DM denying you your archetype's key ability. The Far Strike Monk is adept as a Ranged combatant; you shouldn't need to flurry in melee- because you don't need/shouldn't be in melee.

That said, aside from the typical ranged feats, Quick Draw is definitely high on the list; where Throw Anything- and possibly Catch Off Guard, enable a measure of versatility.
don't know why a monk would care about a discount, where there are other traits that would be better suited to a monk- Reactionary comes to mind.

Alchemical items aren't magical; the hedge magician trait won't help with crafting them. Nor will you be able to flurry with them - Quick Draw won't allow you to draw them as part of a full attack.

If you can't flurry in melee then you're going to want Close Quarters Thrower eventually. Prereqs Weapon Focus and Dodge.

Remember to carry a few longer range and special purpose thrown weapons, like chakrams and bolas.
