Can Non-Magus Get Spell Combat?

Advice

As the title says^
Trying to make Weiss for a RWBY theme'd campaign and I just cant imagine her without having spell combat. Is there a way for a class other then magus to get this ability or something similar to it? I dont very much care about spell strike or any other magus abilities. I actually hate the class and thats why im trying to find a way out of it. Only way ive found so far is the Broad study Arcana which requires a unrealistic 6 level "dip" into magus.

Campaign level is starting at 8

Feats, magic items, etc. don't typically grant entire class feature trees.

Spell combat is the heart of the magus class, so you're not going to find anything that grants it.

So either take the class, or broaden your imagination. :)

As someone completely obsessed with magus...

no. The magus is the only class that can get "spell combat". However, if you're trying to build Weiss, the new puppetmaster archetype might actually be for you. Specialization in enchantment and illusion magic, not losing access to other spells, and access to the entire bard list means you can really tailor your play style towards Weiss's High-Mobility rapier style. It does trade out spellstrike but you don't mind that, so it's not a big deal. In addition, it also puts a different spin on arcane pool's utility.

I would recommend "bladed dash" no matter which magus archetype you go, to mimic her jump boosts.

Not sure how well that works for you, but I do feel like it's a bit closer to what you're looking for.

Actually, I recall another (first party) class gaining it through an archetype, but I cannot seem to remember what it was... I might have to dig through my books.

You're probably thinking of the ectoplasmatist archetype for the spiritualist.

That was it! Thank you very much!

Shadow Lodge

Use variant multiclassing from Pathfinder Unchained.

Scarab Sages

A divine caster who worships Torag can get a feat equivalent of Spell Strike when using a war hammer via Blessed Hammer, but I don't know if any way to get spell combat.

That only gets you Spellstrike (channeling a spell into your weapon), not Spell Combat (cast a spell and make melee attacks at the same time).

Dang... it's essentially "spell combat" but literally doesn't use the words, which is why my search failed me.

... now I have to look over every class's archetypes manually, don't I.

If you are just trying to cast spells at the same time as you attack the Warpriest might be an option.

That's pretty cool.

Minor thread hijack, How does an ectoplasmatist play at the table? light armor and no method of boosting accuracy on a 3/4 bab chassis... i would guess they do a bit of flailing at baddies with reach until they can land a significant bad touch hit? from their spell list i am not seeing too many options though, Chill Touch, some inflicts, maybe force punch?

Are you simply trying to delver your spells through your weapon?
If so ask your GM if he has a work around so all of your spell casting could be delivered through your weapon. Or ask him about some sort of other trade off to get the ability by dropping other abilities. Or a special weapon that allows you to do so.
Of course delivering healing spells by sticking someone (ie damage roll) can be a bit of a drawback if your PC has such things and it can make some spells hard to cast and make sense. ie Charm person, sleep, etc.

Note: Quite a few GM's are not comfortable with doing anything like I have proposed above but some may say fine if you are just playing in a short campaign or with the agreement that if it becomes a problem you will switch it out.

I have some stuff like this in the past but often the trade off's that I felt were appropriate were too sever for the player.

IF they're hitting at touch AC, that would more than make up for the fact that they are a 3/4 BAB.

Unless i have missed something the tendrils still attack regular AC. you have BAB, Stat Mod and a small scaling enchantment bonus for accuracy and beyond that you need to burn limited spells. You also have an armor class feature that goes from as good as a level 1 armor when you hit level 4 and scales up to as good as what you would have at level 9 when you hit level level 12. And creating the tendrils is a full round action that never improves... i love the concept but i dont see the class as pulling off its own concept very well. :(
