Help with building Krieg from borderlands 2

Advice

I want to build krieg but I have really no idea apart from maybe use barbarian. I really want the feel of his mania tree in specific

Way back n 2013 I built him as a Barbarian/Alchemist gestalt.

Without gestalt, I'd actually lean towards Alchemist, probably Ragechemist and going into the Master Chymist PrC.

Weapon of choice is Ye Olde Ripsaw Glaive.

Ooh ragechemist looks neat

Ragechemist is a trap, don't do it. As for Krieg, I would change the decisions based on how you play him in Borderlands. Each tree would play differently, but as Sundakan said, Alchemist would probably do well for it. He morphs in one tree, throws a lot of explosives in the next and fire fire fire in the last one.

However, I feel I should note, Master Chymist would not be ideal, though it might look good at first, because Krieg as portrayed in the games is always the psycho. He just has a sane voice in his head. Master Chymist switches between the personalities.

This also means that Barbarian could actually work well for it, it would just be a matter of fluffing your character and abilities to match Krieg. Don't really get explosives, but personally I don't feel thats really core to the character.

Good to know, what would you suggest for me to build the mania tree, that is to say the melee based tree

Ragechemist is absolutely a trap, it's terrible.

It also fits the character. If you're not planning to actually PLAY him, then it works fine.

Master Chymist works because he specified Mania tree. The Super Psycho form is clearly even crazier than normal. So you swap from CN to CE.

Ragechemist is actually bad. Instead you want Wild Rager. It's an equally terrible archetype, but since one of Krieg's abilities is:

Tier 5 wrote:
Silence the Voices - Increases melee damage and grants a static 12% chance of attacking oneself.

it's absolutely perfect.

I'll have you know I play a Ragechemist/Wild Rager and it has been... a little too much.

Grand Lodge

people are going to hate me for saying Id Rager with the Anger or Hatred focus?

Untouchable Rager and/or Rageshaper archetypes may be more fitting towards Kreig's Mania skill tree.

Krieg isn't a glass cannon- and making a Ragechemist is playing him that way.
Bloodrager is probably a better way to go.

ohh, bloodrager could be cool, and could possibly capture the flavor of the hellfire tree, and i probably won't play this character buti would like him to be at least somewhat viable
