GM seeking players for a Rise of the Runelords Anniversary edition game.

Recruitment

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If you are a player looking for a game and have not played the Rise of the Runelords Adventure path yet, now is your chance. I am looking for 4-5 players who have not played the first pathfinder adventure path yet, no experience is required, and you need only be able to post once a week or so. I am willing to aid players in learning both the game and the play-by-post system here on paizo. of course, all characters will begin at level one. it's first come first serve, so if you are interested, claim a spot right away.

Dot dot dot!

What are the rules of character building?
Any restrictions?

I have a Dwarven telekinetic. He's purely built to be a defensive caster. He will hit tergets from a range while also placing bariers up to create cover
And yes, I have never played a runelords game... the most of a module I've done is crypt of the everflame with wizards

Dot!

Like what William Nightmoon said, I would like to know the rules of character building.

What races/classes are available? What is the point build? How many traits can a character have?

I have a gnome paladin, a Tian-Min human ninja, and a half-orc alchemist; I just have to choose which one I would like to play the most.

Rules for character building... well not to many, as I like to have an open board when I am making a character, but point-buy, no third party classes, level one (of course), no class archetypes, and with exceptions when requested and approved, only classes from the core rule book, advanced players guide, and ultimate combat (these being the books I am most familiar with).

most races, if passed by me, should be fine. all races from the corerule book are allowed, and I think the dwarven telekentic should be fine, but if I could have a look over him that would be great.

Well, this is my dwarf... oh... those books... you know they have the occult classes in the PRD?
Other than that, Leroy is a 20pt build, with two traits, average gold, and is otherwize a very stuborn dwarf.

oh, sorry, should have have stated I wanted a 20 point build up there. my mistake. one of his traits should be taken from the players guide.(the pdf is free) I've looked over (and even played with some material from) the other books, and I did know that they were on PFSRD, I've just messed around more with the other three books.

Ah, okay, I need to get that pdf downloaded to my phone real quick to switch out a trait...

Sounds good, and looks good, he should be fine after you switch out a trait. I'll set up some more stuff tomorrow, or tonight at some point.

Here is the gnome paladin I want to try out. She is on a 20 point buy system, with the racial modifiers and all that. -KoolKobold

Switching out sacred touch with hagfish... an event worthy of leroy's high constitution and resistances. :)

Also looks fine. I've always enjoyed gnomes, but have never yet seen a gnome paladin. Sounds fun.

Can you guys see the tabs on the top of the page? if so, go to game play, and make an in character post as described in my initial post.

please note: new players looking to join should first post their characters here so that I can look them over.

I'm in. My character sheet is in the profile.

Still need to add in the background fluff, but it'll be up soon.

Looking forward to this. Especially as the party is shaping up to be really interesting thus far. A dwarven telekenist, a gnome paladin, and a dwarven stonelord.

Will submit a cleric for consideration.

Submitting the illustrious Peony Boffin, Halfling Ranger extraordinare. I'll be fiddling with a few things in her sheet like Favored enemy and traits, but she's otherwise ready for battle and glory.

I can do the stabby trap thingy!

My third attempt to get in to a RoR campaign, I've always wanted to play it.

Dot... Goblin Kid, it looks like you have your five, with Fizgrubber as an alternate. If someone drops out, or doesn't meet your requirements, please consider me for the game. I have not played "Rise of the Runelords" and I am will to create a character to fill whatever need.

Player/character/class:

william Nightmoon / Leroy Lifebender/ Dwarf Telekineticist (aether)
KoolKobold / Parii / Gnome Paladin
Grumbaki / Khaz Dourblade / Dwarf paladin (Stonelord)
Radavel / to be determined / Cleric
Gypsy Mischief / Peony Boffin / Halfling Ranger

Alternates:
Joshua9093 / Fizgrubber / Goblin Unchained Rogue (scout)
Robert Brayton / to be determined / to be determined

I'll have to look these over at lunch, but I'll get back to you'll by at the latest 6.

Once you alter the traits and the favored enemy, she should be good to go.

After speaking to the GM the class was changed to ranger.

Shouldn't be a problem having two. Mine is a heavily armored close combat fighter, and the halfling is a nimble archer. Same class, opposite play styles.

Startin gold? Set number, average for class, or max for class?

Could you look over my character and tell me if there are any issues?

20 point buy
150 starting gold
3 traits 1 drawback (drawback and trait for fluff, other traits for crunch)

And do you allow background skills? (+2 skills, must be used for profession or craft to show character backgrounds)

you can either roll your gold, or take the average. your choice, but you take what you pick.

If you haven't claimed a spot, sorry, it is too late. I have Four players, and will begin my campaign at ten PM EST. Due to the swiftness and huge amounts of response I received though, I may at some point do this campaign again. So sorry if you didn't get a spot this time around, but keep an eye out for another chance.

We have been losing contact with some players. The campaign has not gotten to far into swing yet. If anyone is still interested in joining up, it may help the group.
If you are interested in joining a group playing RotRL please message me on paizo to submit your character. It is first come first served, and there are only a few spots open, and I will post back here once this issue is resolved.

PM sent.

I also sent a character for consideration.

I believe I have enough PMs sent to me. Thanks for your quick responses.
