So the Skald gains the Versatile Performance ability much like the Bard, with Perform (Percussion) being used in place of Intimidate (and Handle Animal). The Belkzen War Drummer archetype, from Advanced Class Origins, has the Fearsome Mien ability, which gives a 1/2 level bonus to Intimidate (and Bluff) checks. Does Fearsome Mien apply when making Intimidate checks with Perform (Percussion)?

no, you're replacing your intimidation check with the perform check.

In no way does it say you're using a perform check. Simply that you're using the one bonus instead of the other bonus.

However, Red Metal, I'm unsure how that applies here. You clearly are drummer based and clearly get a bonus.
