Good Afternoon, All. Apologies in advance for the "newbie" question. I just joined my first organized play session at Gen Con, and had an absolute blast! (The Cosmic Captive, if anyone else participated.) I earned a few minor rewards, and now am interested in playing more ACG organized play.
My question to you all is, what is the best way for me to try to track down organized play for the ACG in my area? Either something on a regular schedule or cons or whatever? I did some poking around the website, but didn't really find anything. It's quite possible I missed what I'm looking for.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

You can start here. On the left side, there're a buncha filters. Beneath Date/time, location, and organizer, there's a filter for WHICH Pathfinder Society you're looking for. The third checkbox is for the ACG.
You can also find a list of Regional Coordinators here. These are the folks who organize events in their given area.
Lastly, you can always search for (or create) a topic in this very forum that lists your area in the topic.
Hope this helps.

All your local events may not be listed on Paizo's site, because your local area may have its own board. (We use Meetup in Baltimore.) So if you don't see any, contact your local Venture Officer. If you don't have any ACG in your area, you can always start something! Your VO should know what sites might be willing to host.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I don't see anything listed in my area (western NY, specifically Rochester). I reached out to the regional coordinator to see if they might have any additional information. I've also reached out to a couple of game shops in the area, and am waiting to hear back.
Being relatively new to the organized play world (I've played the game at home, but only just started organized play), I'm really not sure what I would need to do to run an event myself. The first (probably dumb) question I would have is, if I run an event, do I get to actually *play*?

Yes, when you run an organized play game, you can still play, same as you would if you were running the box in a home game. You'd have to do a few other things---get the scenarios, fill out paperwork, stuff like that. You can find all the rules in the Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild Guide.
You will need a box to play. In my area we usually have someone to bring them, but if the store registers with Paizo, they can get a free copy of the current season's base set. Some organizers bring extra class decks so that people trying the game can borrow one, but that is in no way expected.
Those are the basics, and the guide explains the details, but if you have more questions, just come on and ask.
