Rules Questions

1) If a PC has the Unscathed trait (raises any energy resistances you have by 2 points) and a Minor Ring of Sonic Resistance, does he have 12 or 10 sonic resistance?

2) Are there any feats, magic items, or spells available to a bloodrager that give negative energy resistance (specifically channeled negative energy to harm living)?

3) Are there any feats or minor dips into other classes to gain/improve SR and or energy resistances? (Yes, I have a friend who is currently obsessed with energy resistances.)

4) I heard there is a feat that lets you skip the prereq's for combat feats, but I can't remember what it was called. Do you know what it is? (Specifically a PC is wanting to take improved & greater disarm, but doesn't have the 13+ intelligence for combat expertise.)

5) I think there is a feat that lets a PC use charisma for saves like a paladin, but my search-fu seems weak today. What is it called and which book is it from?

6) Can a caster sit on his own floating disk or does it stay at his waist height?

7) Can someone other than the caster tow around a floating disk? What about an Unseen Servant?

1) From the wording of the trait I would rule it has to be a resistance you actually have yourself, not one from items, and not one you get later on. If you don't have one, the trait wouldn't apply.

2) There is no resistance to negative energy, there is only the spell Deathward, if I remember correctly.

3) Probably, but I don't know any. I am also pretty sure there is nothing to improve SR.

4) I don't know of one either. To skip the prerequisites of other feats by taking one sounds a bit off too.

5) Yes, there is one: Divine Protection from the Advanced Class Guide. It was nerfed pretty good, as it works now only once per day as an immediate action.

6) I have yet to see a DM allowing it, since that would be a cheesy way to skip higher level spells.

7) Open to DM adjudication. Technically it always and only works for the caster, but there have been questions what happens if a giant pushes or pulls it, or if it blocks a door, and some other stuff.

1) Unscathed doesn't limit sources of the energy resistance. But the Ring of Energy Resistance is unclear about granting energy resistance or a seperat mechanic functioning just like energy resistance. But I would assume that it does grant energy resistance. Which means 12.

2) As far as I know and recall, there's not really any energy resistance in regard to negativ or positive energy at all in Pathfinder.

3) I'll get back to you on that if/when I find something.

4) There are class features for this (from the Swashbuckler). I'm not aware of a seperate feat that does this in general.

5) Not anymore. It was changed about a year ago.

6) You will have to direct it, otherwise it says that it keeps a 5ft distance from you.

7) Only you can direct it via magic.

4) the ranger/slayer can get Improved Disarm for free through a Faithful Combat style (Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Combat), i dont know about greater though

4. This is the feat you want. It lets you skip pre-requisites for the CMB feats and gives you a hefty bonus to use them while flanking.

1. Couldn't say for sure. Unscathed mentions "energy resist you have" but the ring of energy resistance specifically says "the ring protects you".

2. Not quite, but this is basically resist 10 negative/positive energy.

3. Drow have feats for SR (Drow noble stuff). A few domains, bloodlines, etc. will give you resistances, but they're generally not small dips (most of the resistances increase as you level, a dip doesn't help). You can also use Eldritch Heritage to pick them up.

4. Dirty Fighting. Great for skipping prereqs.

5. Divine Protection used to do that, now it's 1/day as an immediate action before the roll. So... not so much.

6. I've seen several attempts to do this (and/or generate a perpetual motion machine) but I think it's still under debate. It should be possible (you can direct it to hold still and climb on) but you would have to direct it every round (otherwise it moves to follow you from 5 feet away, trying to drop you off).

7. Only the caster can direct it.

2. There is a magic item in PFS that in a nutshell gives you DR against negative energy, but you have to risk far greater than average likelihood of death and permanent negative effects to your character to get it.

The deathless +1 armor enhancement gives you 10 resistance to negative energy and a 25% chance to negate effects that give you negative levels. Several of my characters have this.

I was getting really hopeful, I have a character that wants Combat Expertise but doesn't have 13 intelligence... Alas it is not to be (not willing to make the level dips to get it through other means).
