Dragon Disciple and Outer Dragon Blood

Rules Questions

As the name of this thread suggests I am kinda curious what would happen to a Dragon Disciple that took the Outer Dragon Blood (I will put the link to the trait below) and decides to use Form of the Dragon 1 and 2. Would some home brewing be required for the additional effects you get since you have to change into the dragon-type specified in your bloodline (which could be potentially an outer dragon)?

How exactly do I do that? I don't normally post things here. Normally I just copy and paste the inside.

Danke shun.

Here is the link.

There should be no homebrew needed for the shapechanging. Just do what the spell tells you to do.

The problem is that normally for the Form of the Dragon spells you have to pick a certain type of dragon to become, said choice deciding what element you become resistant to, what additional movement type you have, and what kind of breath you have (as in the element and the shape of the breath). While the elemental resistance and breath are fine there is the fact that one would still be missing the additional movement type.

Form of the Dragon:

You become a Medium chromatic or metallic dragon. You gain a +4 size bonus to Strength, a +2 size bonus to Constitution, a +4 natural armor bonus, fly 60 feet (poor), darkvision 60 feet, a breath weapon, and resistance to one element. You also gain one bite (1d8), two claws (1d6), and two wing attacks (1d4). Your breath weapon and resistance depend on the type of dragon. You can only use the breath weapon once per casting of this spell. All breath weapons deal 6d8 points of damage and allow a Reflex save for half damage. In addition, some of the dragon types grant additional abilities, as noted below. This is because the Dragon Disciple's Form of the Dragon spell-like ability specifically states that you must turn into the dragon that you took for your bloodline and if you took the Outer Dragon Blood trait you don't have a bloodline that specifically matches one of the types below in the spoiler.

Black dragon: 60-foot line of acid, resist acid 20, swim 60 feet
Blue dragon: 60-foot line of electricity, resist electricity 20, burrow 20 feet
Green dragon: 30-foot cone of acid, resist acid 20, swim 40 feet
Red dragon: 30-foot cone of fire, resist fire 30, vulnerability to cold
White dragon: 30-foot cone of cold, resist cold 20, swim 60 feet, vulnerability to fire
Brass dragon: 60-foot line of fire, resist fire 20, burrow 30 feet, vulnerability to cold
Bronze dragon: 60-foot line of electricity, resist electricity 20, swim 60 feet
Copper dragon: 60-foot line of acid, resist acid 20, spider climb (always active)
Gold dragon: 30-foot cone of fire, resist fire 20, swim 60 feet
Silver dragon: 30-foot cone of cold, resist cold 30, vulnerability to fire

Ah, didn't consider the movement issue. Breathweapon and resist should be easy, for movement I suppose you/ your GM need to compare the base and outer dragons and grant the best match.

Right. Normally I wouldn't even really bother until I got a game for this guy, but the Dragon Form spell-like of the Dragon Disciple specifically states that I have to turn into the dragon that my bloodline is based off of and considering that Time Dragons aren't exactly on the list...

Yea classic "Ask you GM" issue where they are empowered to help you.

Scarab Sages

Nothing mentioned nothing gained .. so no extra movement for those ..

with the fire Cold types its easy anyway looking at Red and silver dragon gaining Vulnerability instead of an extra move type. And for the time dragon ... well screw it youre not getting haste :-)

so simply no extra movement but may or may not gain vulenrability according to GMs whim in my opinion.

Sometimes brick and mortar stores also release them before the street date. They're not supposed to, but sometimes not all the employees are aware.
