Hi Folks,
Are Monstrous Companion and Boon Companion compatible? I have a mounted ranger looking to ride a griffon and cannot figure out how to build it in HeroLab without creating a separate hero (npc?) and manually adding animal companion benefits. Any other ways to get at this concept are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

This should not work, if for any reason, because you do not have an animal companion or a familiar to select for Boon Companion. You would have a cohort. Though, I can see a GM allowing you to boost your effective druid level by boon companion, which would then alter the cohort accordingly. But that would be entirely up to the generosity of the GM in question.
But, you could take "monstrous mount" instead. Then you may have a griffon. Though, if you want to fly on its back you need the second mastery feat.

I have a Paladin/Shining Knight 5 Fighter 2 with Monstrous Mount and Monstrous Mount Mastery feats to allow me to ride a Griffon and Boon Companion to keep him fully leveled. No problems building this in Hero Lab and it's much fun to play, though very feat intensive to get all the parts working. Even at level 7 I still haven't been able to get Spirited Charge, which many seem to think is essential for a mounted build. But I'm doing ok with Wheeling Charge, allowing me to charge much more than I would otherwise, and a wand of Saddle Surge (deadly!). Narrow Frame is a great choice for the Griffon's first feat.
