How long does it take for a Mauler Familiar to change from normal form to battle form?
although I will note- the ability has no time limit, so there is little mechanical reason not to have it on all the time.
It is more a fashion thing. "oh, it is such a faux pas to have an eagle larger than I am in the foyer".

Most size change don't stack with polymorph effects but the mauler Battle form lack that caveat.
Yes, officially the battle form isn't a polymorph effect. But it was intended to be and would likely gain that tag if it ever gets errata or FAQ. Frankly, I think it needs a FAQ pretty bad to make it clear that you are intended to use the polymorph size change table.

I was referring to something different. Effects that change your size generally aren't polymorph effects, they are trasmutation effects, but normally they don't stack with polymorph effects if those would change your size.
In addition, other spells that change your size have no effect on you while you are under the effects of a polymorph spell.
As the mauler familiar original size almost certainly isn't medium we have a problem.
If beastashape make it a medium creature we have 2 effects that increase size, even if the result is the same size for both effects.
If beastshape make the mauler large or larger they don't stack for the above rule.
If beastshape make it small or smaller it could work. (You can't stack 2 effects that make you smaller, but there is no rule about staking 2 effects, one that make you larger and one that make you smaller).
Sadly my GM hasn't brought that argument, so my wolf anima companion can't benefit at the same time from Animal growth and Reduce animal. A pity, maneuvering a huge wolf in a dungeon is always a problem.
