Question on Sacred Weapon

Rules Questions

So, I'm working on a Warpriest. I'm planning on taking Weapon Focus Unarmed Strike, thus making my unarmed strikes sacred weapons. However, since it doesn't specify, does the 4th level ability, allowing you to enhance and add magical abilities to any sacred weapon, apply to unarmed strikes?

This is for a Society character, in case that makes a difference. Thanks all!

Silver Crusade

No, you still need an amulet of mighty fists to enhance your unarmed strikes, this just greatly increases the damage you do with said unarmed strike

Also if you really want to use unarmed strike you might want to look to the Sacred Fist archetype

See, that's where I'm confused.

Warpriest specifically gives you Improved Unarmed Strike if your god uses unarmed strike as a holy weapon. And once you can start adding abilities to a sacred weapon (holy, disruption, flaming, frost, etc.) using the 4th level ability, the impression I got was that you could do it to anything you have Weapon Focus for.

I'm aware that for permanent abilities you need Amulet of Mighty Fists. But the Sacred Weapon bonuses we're adding are temporary enhancements that don't specify manufactured weapons only; just something you have Weapon Focus in. Making a big deal about giving you a free feat makes no sense if you can't use any of the other abilities attached to that feat, which is why I'm looking for an actual ruling on that ability specifically.

And then look back at the base and be happy you chose it.

But seriously, the sacred fist is only better if you really want the specific stuff, the WP is better generic combatant, even when using unarmed strikes.

Your level 4 sacred bond works fine for unarmed strikes.

Unarmed Strikes are treated as Light Weapons. As long as you take Weapon Focus your Unarmed Strikes are counted as your Sacred Weapon and gain all the benefits any other weapon would get for being your Sacred Weapon Including being able to enhance them. Keep in mind however you are only enhancing one fist at a time.

Also unless you take Improved Unarmed Strike or it is your deity's favored weapon(thus you get IUS for free)then you will be dealing non-lethal damage with your Unarmed Strikes.
