It doesn't say fifth level on the cover?

From the product description:

Quote:
A dark urban horror adventure for 5th-level Pathfinder Roleplaying Game characters.

And aren't there pre-made iconics in the back of the book?

Hey guys, it's easy to miss such things when you're starting out. Give him a break.

Also, if this is for PFS, the question may have deeper nuances. For society play, there is indeed a question of what level to start people playing. All modules have a range (in the case of Carrion Hill, 4-6) for society play. It's generally recommended to play near the top of a module's range because in PFS you don't level in the middle.

Brian, if it's not for PFS, tell your players to make fifth level characters, and to expect to level in the middile.

Hmm

Thanks guys. Sorry if my questions seem obvious. But ive had several eye surgeries in the past and its hard to read it even when i have it scanned and Zoomed in using the Ease of Access Feature in the computer. (sorry didnt mean for this to ruffle any feathers i just like to explain the more easier mistakes i make in the game) I thought Paizo had a GM forum but i cant seem to find it when i click on pathfinder roleplaying game link. Did they do away with it. I also have some PFS scenarios i bought from Paizo. Can i run them as normal games or do i have to run them as PFS games. I just want to have fun running them without worrying about reporting the game. Thanks for the help.

Brian --

No worries. My eyesight isn't what it has been in the past, either.

GM INFORMATION

There is a GM forum hidden in the PFS forums for this site. There's even a Discussion of Carrion Hill there. You can ask questions and get answers.

There are also a lot of Discussions of Carrion Hill in the Pathfinder Modules Forum.

PFS or NOT PFS

You can run any modules and PFS scenarios as a home game with no PFS restrictions, or you can run them as private PFS game. Either way works. PFS has the disadvantage of more initial rules restrictions, but it has several pluses as well that I find appealing as a GM. I like the simplicity with which it handles both treasure and leveling. There's also the advantage of being able to port your characters elsewhere if you have a large PFS scene locally.

Feel free to do what you think best with the content, and run the games that you like.

Has this helped?

Hmm

If PFS isn't an issue (ie you're just running home games) and you want to ask questions or discuss the module, Paizo have a messageboard dedicated to their modules line:

You can find it here.

It tends to be fairly quiet, so if you have a query make sure you make an informative thread title.

You could also try going to that messageboard and searching Carrion Hill in the upper right searchbar. That should yield some useful threads from others who have run it.

Thanks guys this has been a great help. I was wondering though when i get ready to do an Adventure Path. Which would be better for a starting GM to try? Its not going to happen immediately but after several modules and PFS scenarios ill probably will want to try. Thanks again for all the help.

If you've never done an adventure path, Rise of the Runelords is a classic. It was their first, and it has something for everyone. Or you can even turn the PFS scenarios into a campaign of their own: Pathfinder Society Campaign Paths.

Hmm

Thanks, I've actually played Rise of the Runelords so it might be easier for me to DM. And ill definantly look at making PFS into campaign paths. Thanks again.
