New Power Word?

Homebrew and House Rules

So, I was stating up a dragon for an upcoming encounter and was typing up his spell list when I typed:

Power Word, Bling

It got me thinking that this should be on the bard's spell list.
Just something silly that I wanted to share.

It's not quite the legendary Power Word, Defenestrate, but it got a chuckle out of me. :p

Remind me of that old thread about mistyped spells - Continual Blame, Burning Bands, Animate Pope, that sort of thing. xD

I honestly think there should be a whole series of "power word" spells from 1st to 9th. They came close back in 3.5 but i dont think they actually finished

idk, I kinda like power words being big and powerful effects. Not sure what you could put at first level that would fit.

Although I suppose Magic Missile is basically Power Word, Damage. :p

In 3.5 it was like power word fatigue/sicken/etc Basically a lot of the precursor status effects for the big ones, basic no save but hp cap single target spells.

Well you could add power word sleep, say max 20 health for a no save sleep effect, think that was a level 2 power word at one point. Power word silence could work, no idea what level/max hp it would be though. Maybe add power word sicken, fatigue, nauseate, fear etc..

You realize that Power Words is the entire point of Wordcasting right?

The misspelled spells are my favorite, because as a GM someone in all of my campaigns always ends up in the possession of "The Book of Misspellings" which can hold any number of spells but always changes the name of the spell (and consequently its effect) by one letter.

Works 100% fifty percent of the time, the other fifty I get to pull up the word generator and get creative. There is a wonderful little site called [urlhttp://xworder.com/MorphBuild.aspx]word morph[/url] that I use. Its not perfect but darn can it be fun to use.

Nothing says fun like Flood Armor or Lightning Belt

As for power words, Power Word Bling must obviously become canon. In regards to word-casting being power words...eh? They are sort of similar but rather different considering that the power word spells are still on regular caster lists. There is no reason that we can't add more Power Word spells to the regular spell lists.

Especially since I cannot remember the last time that Wordcasting got any support from another source of material.

Hmm. What condition should PW Bling apply? Entangle?

Except that the words of power system has a distinctly different feel from the Power Word spell line.

Words of power: more versatile/on the fly version of the standard spell list

Power Word spells: No save hit point based single target debuff.

Power Word, Bling.

Tragic.
