Multiple questions regarding inhuman speed.

Rules Questions

Long story short, I made a 20th level character that if using the run action can go past Mach 4. My gaming group has always played using physics which poses several questions. Wouldn't this person just disintegrate? If so how fast can he go without harming himself? Would he die from pure sonic damage? Can he run on water? What about people nearby? How would they be affected by the sonic boom that he produces? Please feel free to make your own rulings on this subject, usually pathfinder covers everything but this appear to be a gray area.

Answer: there are no rules covering this.

If you want to make up your own then the thread should be posted in the house rules forum.

As an aside, how does your character move 6696feet in one round with a run action (Mach 1 let alone Mach 4)? Even using the sprint ability (x10 speed) that would require a move speed of 670feet. (This assumes standard sea level conditions.)

If you put that much effort into making a character with a high move speed just let him run fast. No reason for him to harm himself or die.

It started by finding all the untyped speed bonuses in the game and all multipliers that could stacked. Thanks again I will switch over to the home brew section.

Kujinata, please send me a PM how you managed to get that fast. I am curious. :)

Scarab Sages

no, he made the claim. he can back it up to the rest of us too.

I'd also like to know the proposed method for making a character that fast!

Dark Archive

If you can find a situation in which that is actually useful other than overland travel (which is hardly a problem at 20th) then your doing pretty well.

The Exchange Owner - D20 Hobbies

Multipliers don't stack.
There are very few untyped bonuses to speed.

I doubt you can break 800 feet on a run.

That fastest i can think of would be cheating with a Kineticist, Quickened Ride the Blast on an extreme air's reach air blast followed by a regular ride the blast on an extreme air's reach air blast. That would get you 1920' in a single round. Or just shy of 220 MPH in a burn intensive burst.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Physics doesn't apply in Pathfinder unless the rules say so.

Trying to apply physics is how we ended up with the peasant rail gun. Which was obviously a stupid conclusion.
