The books and PRD still have a lot of outdated lists. I've just bookmarked this Blog entry instead.

Another person in the comments thread was also excited by the longhammer's inclusion in the hammers group.
That Blog entry is from the Pathfinder Society, but my friends and I use PFS rules as a baseline. If it's ok there then its ok with us. Then we throw away a lot of their restrictions on things like crafting and certain archetypes.

Yeah, throwing weapon is a very feat intensive combat style, so fighter's the easiest way to do it. Brawler could also work, and that Shield Champion archetype could work well if you're doing the Captain America thing. Also, human warpriests can get as many feats as a fighter if they use the favored class bonus on the bonus feats. See this thread for a detailed discussion on thrown weapon builds.

I think that I asked about the longhammer & longaxe about three years ago. And then abandoned my foehammer / stalwart defender idea when I got no response about six months later.
Shield Champion's cool, but with the right advanced weapon training, style feats, and rage powers, I can get a build that can charge at one enemy, throw his shield during the charge (at that first enemy, or some other one), catch it before reaching the target, then overrun that guy and throw the shield again, bouncing it off of several enemies (including the guy I just bowled over if need be) before catching it a second time.
Startoss + Ricochet Toss is so much more effective than the Shield Champion's abilities that it's tempting to abandon the Brawler archetype even before you consider the huge benefits that Advanced Weapon Training bring to the party.
The only thing that a Shield Champion can do that a Lore Warden / Hurler can't do is bull rush with a thrown shield.
Of course, being so unbelievably feat intensive, the round I described above won't be feasible until level 12 or 13. But Captain America's a high-level fighter anyhow, so that's alright.
