I hope to see a lot of Corruptions pop up over the next few issues.
With any luck you will here soon ^-^. I will say though, writing one in 1500 words or less is NOT easy.
But then again, being able to grow a jetpack out of your back that screams with the war fires of Our Lord in Iron and is crafted by tiny machines hiding in your blood stream was too f~*~ing cool to not take a stab at it.

Not to mention Plasma Corruption. Energy creatures a la 'The Color Out of Space,' only made of plasma energy and learning to live inside of a human(oid) nervous system, with a side-effect of the host occasionally bursting into flame.
There is one of the corruptions I am working on and another very similar to the other...

We are all just tapping into the same zeitgeist of concepts so cool that they are attempting to will themselves into being, through us susceptible pawns, er, creative innovators!

However, because multiple creatures are combined to form a single bestiary article, smaller entries will be considered as long as they are complete. (i.e., a hard target word count of 750 words does not apply to bestiary entries. See the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary for examples of proper formatting and content.)
Just to double check here since I woke up with a sudden flash of last minute inspiration, for monster formatting you want something like this, right?
...
Yes, correct.

Final count comes in at 83 submissions! Thanks to everyone that sent something in for this issue!!
The breakdown:
15 Bestiary
16 Class
12 Crunch
9 Flavor
7 Fiction
1 Game
11 Magic and Tech Items
3 Poetry
3 Side Trek Seeds
6 Weal or Woe
Brief reads show some truly great stuff!
We will be reviewing over the next 2 weeks and hope to make our selections by mid-September. When we do, we will send out an email, along with an agreement statement that ALL authors and artists must formally agree to (legal stuff) in order to be part of the issue.
We will also likely post the list of selected authors here as well. If you aren't selected, you will not get a rejection letter; the fact that you will not see your name on the acceptance list is your notification.

Updated tracking of submissions by issue. Number of submissions is consistent with the previous two even numbered issues.

Anybody have ideas what Wayfinder #17 is going to be yet?
Any hints I've missed?
Speculations?
Notions?
Strange dreams?
I'll take anything I can get!

After performing several rituals, failing most of them, then asking a demon for their unprofessional opinion- signs point to "Goblin Edition"
If only :'(
Jeremy Clements
A "Goblin Edition" would be cool!
But I'm not as familiar with pathfinder versions as much as I would like... especially the hobgoblins and bugbears.
Personally, I would love to see more on Tian Xia, and/or more on the new Occult book! These two are just begging to be combined into some interesting stuff!

Best part of finishing up articles is getting to clear my space of all the books that were being flipped through and closing the extra browser with bunches of open tabs.
Indeed! I just reshelved the Technology Guide, Numeria book and Iron Gods AP, as well as a Bestiary (so I could look up monster creation stuff like the CR chart and Universal Monster rules without flipping through a dozen tabs!).
And, of course, the Core book, because it's such a nuisance finding some information online, like how size and maneuverability modifies your Fly skill, or how size or extra legs modifies CMD.

After diving deep into European folk music again, having several songs on regular play, to check the meter and rhythm, plus all the songs the internet insist on auto-playing as suggestions, I now have a dozen earworms competing for my attention, and need to fight the urge to break into humming or dancing a jig in the street.
I also have a lot of further historical reading to do, into the origins of said anthems.
(So which came first? 'What Do We Do With A Drunken Sailor'? Or "Óró sé do bheatha abhaile"?)

Goblins would be fun, as would occult, but I would love to see an Tian Xia issue, since it's a whole continent that doesn't get very much love. Jalmeray would be awesome too. But sticking with the Inner Sea, I absolutely love Andoran.

Alternatively: "Occult Goblins of Tian Xia".

Arcadia is unlikely because we have not enough official information to base it on.
Mammoth Lords... Depending on how much materials for this issue will focus on barbarian sword & sorcery fantasy. If there is a substantial number of articles that dwell on that Mammoth Lords will probaly have to wait.

That is True, but, on the other hand, it does open up creativity if you consider Arcadia as America with 1 Viking (Linnorm King) settlement and a couple European (Andoran and Cheliax) settlements. I could see a lot of fun articles with a Native American or Mesoamerican feel to them.
Mammoth Lords... Depending on how much materials for this issue will focus on barbarian sword & sorcery fantasy. If there is a substantial number of articles that dwell on that Mammoth Lords will probaly have to wait.
Gooder point, I did not consider this.

Add the Horror supplements in...
"Horror of the Occult Goblins of Tian Xia"....

I honestly haven't been giving a ton of thought to the theme for #17. The Bestiary book, plus getting #16 on track to roll, have pretty much been my focus.
A thing to consider is that 2017 will be the 10-yr mark since the first unofficial PaizoCon we held in 2008. I think Paizo doesn't actually count that first one in their tally, so it's likely that the 10th Year of PaizoCon will be 2018...
But, I think, and I could be wrong about this, but isn't 2017 the "ten years of Pathfinder" mark?
Call me crazy, but ten years for Pathfinder AND PaizoCon sounds like a nice special theme to me......

I feel like the horror is implied.
Oh, you meant the subsystems!
Corruption: Goblin Sympathy. If goblins succeed on enough diplomacy checks against you, you start taking on goblin behaviors. Starts with an affinity for fire and a distaste for dogs, eventually compelling you to wear goblin skin and join a troupe of goblins. The upshoot? The goblins will probably accept you as their king because you are the biggest goblin in the room.

In 2012 you had #7 which was the 5th anniversary edition...so a 10 year anniversary for 2017 would be fitting.
And I might have something as my first contribution
10year edition is fine by me.
I'm just not sure what to write for an anniversary issue. Classic stuff re-imagined? 3.5 Conversions? Expanding more on "Core Rules" classes/feats/etc...? Or is it ANYTHING goes?

It would be a more open theme for sure. Limited only to what Paizo has covered in Golarion so far. So, no stuff that hasn't been covered yet. Basically, look at all the APs. Stick to those areas.
Not sure if we'll do that, or come up with a much more focused theme. We haven't had an internal discussion on it yet.
Keep the ideas coming, though! It helps to hear different perspectives on this!
Anthony Adam
Hmmm,
Taking a reverse tack might be fun too - a 10 year "update" of Golarion...
Imagine adding 10 years of age to each of the iconics... does Ezren have that many left in him? Does Valeros now have a brood of children in his wake? etc. Who are the young upstarts that have now left school etc to become the new upcoming champions? Have any of the iconics gained annoying groupie followers?
How much has been lost to the goblins in terms of land, villages, and how many have their numbers swelled to? Is there an impending goblin war, or... has it happened already? How have the borders between nations shifted if at all? Have any of the rulers passed on / been eliminated / etc... with new rulers in their place?
What discoveries (magical or otherwise) were made that your party / the iconics were not involved in? Which minor problems have grown into major forces arrayed against the goodly nations?
Interestingly, as an aside, the next RPG Superstar will be #10 as well!
Jeremy Clements
Call me weird...but I kinda like the idea of trying to bring in some old 3.0 or 3.5 OGL stuff that has not been translated into Pathfinder and making it relevant again. One Caveat: It has to scream PATHFINDER in the re-imagining. No overdo just to get your favorite magic item or prestige class into the game, but a carefully and fully fleshed out re-imagining.
Unfortunately, I know how much that kinda things gets bogged down in legalese and such that would be a pain to edit and similar. Oh well.
I can see focusing on Absalom. That might work.
Updated 10year map showing current political lines based on the results of all the APs so far would be pretty cool too!
You could actually do the "All APs" Theme. Article theme(s) must be able to be included in/based on a specific Paizo AP published in the last 10 years?

...This is what I was thinking. I feel like this would be the best way to do a 10 year anniversary issue and not have the theme be too broad.
Absalom, TX, and Goblins are also good...
