Alternate Animal Companion Advancement

Hey guy's looking for confirmation of the source on something I came across there. I was looking up stuff on Animal Companions and came across this guide:

Under 'Part III: We can build it stronger... faster....' it states:

"One often overlooked option is instead of taking the listed benefit at 4th or 7th level, you can instead choose to increase the companion's Dexterity and Constitution by 2. This doesn't make sense for many companions, who get powerful abilities like stun or pounce for taking the standard levelling package. If you want a scout, or you have a dex based companion like a giant weasel it may be viable though"

Anyone know where this rule comes from? I use Hero Lab and I wanna know what package I need to enable this. I also want to make sure it's legal for PFS ^^

To be more explicit, it is in the Animal Companion section of the Druid rules in the Core Rulebook.

Legal for both Standard and Core games.
