Advanced Weapon Training Feat Question

Rules Questions

The Advanced Weapon Training Feat in the Weapon Master Handbook. Could a swashbuckler take this since they have swashbuckler weapon training?

Depends on whether or not your GM thinks Weapon Training is equivalent to Swashbuckler Weapon Training.

They don't do exactly the same thing, mostly the Swashbuckler version grant free Improved Critical, so I'm actually inclined to rule no.

However, there is another feat you can take that would allow you to take the Advanced Weapon Training feat by letting you count as having Weapon Training for qualifying for things.

I can't remember the name of it, but hopefully someone else can chime in.

Martial Focus. Page 20 in the Weapon Master's Handbook.

Martial Focus only allows you to count as having weapon training for Weapon Mastery feats, not for Advanced Weapon Training feats.

And to answer the OP, Swashbuckler Weapon Training is not Fighter Weapon Training, does and does not reference Fighter Weapon Training in any way, so it doesn't count as Weapon Training. Swashbucklers do not qualify for the AWT feat, Gloves of Dueling, or anything else that requires Fighter Weapon Training.
