Okay, this have been giving me the run around for awhile, but it boils down to two questions:
1) Does the Id Rager trigger his Atavistic Focus abilities that mention slam with weapon strikes, or only with slams?
2) Per definition of slam, if the Id Rager has/gains natural attacks (eg claws and bite), do those abilities now trigger on only the use of natural attacks, or on all attacks?
For example:
For an Id Rager with the Anger Emotional Focus, would attacking with a weapon trigger Powerful Strike, and cause damage as if the weapon was one size category larger? Or would he have to use/gain natural attacks in order to trigger Powerful Strike, and then attack with the natural attacks in order to deal damage as if those natural attacks were from a creature one size category larger?

...Id Rager abilities only work with slams.
Basically, its a horrible archetype for most characters.
Yea, that's what I was afraid of. Thankfully it's only the first ability that turns to garbage since you naturally don't have a slam attack. At least the other abilities from Atavistic Focus aren't too bad.
One more question, about Anger Emotional Focus in specific.
Do I permanently gain Power Attack, or only while raging?

You only have Power Attack while raging (assuming you don't pay the feat for it).
Weirdly, I don't think it's possible to get a slam attack ever as a PC. Only thing I can think of is the Vampire template, which is obviously not going to be valid for the majority of PC's.
Polymorphs basically are it. Along with a couple archetypes, ape shaman druid and a fighter one(from the tech manual)

Gah Dang It!
I guess that makes like the Hatred Emotional Focus one of the very few that like, don't suck outright
But then again, I only gain a Hated Target while Raging, as well as sneak-attack. I can't declare a Hated Target before combat starts, can I?

Power attack while raging should be fine. You're only power attacking while fighting, which would be the time you'd be raging. Plus you get the +2 str -2 dex while raging with anger.
Then at lv7 you get a HUGE accuracy boost with Aura of Fury. As a swift action you get an effective +4 for all your attacks and then you turn it off as a free action at the end of your turn.
