questions about a bloodrager

Advice

so im building a level 5 bloodrager for my campaign.
so i have decided to go Arcane(for RP reasons) so now im trying build the rest of the character

Is the urban bloodrager archetype worth using?

is Arcane Strike a good feat to get with a bloodrager?

right now im looking at taking Powerattack/combat reflexes/arcane strike

now a wierd question is Two weapon fighting a possibility to use?

Urban Bloodrager is good for a Dex-build, or if you want to poach from other people's spell lists. It's not flat-out superior to the base version or anything, though. It makes a solid party face, too.

Arcane Strike is great for a Bloodrager, as it leads into Riving Strike, which is a fun debuff to put on enemies. You can also get Blooded Arcane Strike and get your Swift actions back if you want.

TWF is possible, but far from optimal. You'll lack a free hand for casting, your Str won't benefit you a lot on the off-hand, and neither will Power Attack. I'd strongly advise sticking with a big two-handed weapon.

i might be missing something but a bloodrager's swift action economy seams pretty free. what are swift actions that bloodrager generally use

they are quite free normally. But it if you wanted them back, cause you were doing a dip into inquisitor with swift action judgements or paladin and swift lay on hands, or you're going for a Combat Style that uses a swift to start, or if you're a spelleater.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, there's a reason that I mentioned Riving Strike first. And referred to Blooded Arcane Strike with an 'if you want'.

It's really not necessary, but it is a Bloodrager only Arcane Strike Feat, so I felt I should mention it while I was on the subject.

Grand Lodge

Here is my Arcane Bloodrager for a 20 point buy.

Carl Jr.:
Half-Orc Primalist Spell-eater Bloodrager
Alternate Racial Traits: Sacred Tattoo and Shaman's Apprentice

20 point buy: Str: 16+2 racial=18, Dex: 13+1=14, Con: 15+1=16, Int: 10, Wis: 12, Cha: 13+1=14 (+1s are Level ups)

Trait 1: Fate's Favored- Paired with Sacred Tattoo you get +2 Luck bonus on all 3 saves...this is better than taking 3 feats. Also I am a firm believer in the Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier.
Trait 2: Dangerously Curious (cause UMD is a Nice skill to Have...scrolls are cheap and VERY useful)
Trait 3: Optimistic Gambler (this is NOT PFS legal because it is a campaign trait from second darkness. but if you play in a home game where they don't care about where the trait comes from and allows 3 traits and 1 drawback This is the trait to pick up.) This trait comes from the second darkness campaign and is THE BEST trait for a Bloodrager or Barbarian that is not rage cycling like the build below. Gives 1-4 extra rage rounds after you choose to end your rage every time. Basically its better than taking Extra rage feat 2+ times.

Build By Level:

1 HD: Feats- Endurance(from Shaman's Apprentice Trait) and Die Hard, fast movement, bloodrage, Disruptive Bloodrage (Su)

2 HD: Blood of Life(Su) Notice the SU in that ability. This fast healing IS magical and not a EX ability like a majority of Fast Healing

3 HD: Feat-Fast Healer, Blood sanctuary
(because of Blood of Life (Su) your fast healing IS magical...makes Fast Healer actually work for you to increase your amount of Fast healing by 1+ Half CON modifier)

4 HD: Eschew materials, Blood casting, Arcane Bloodrage (Sp)

5 HD: Feat-Raging Vitality, Spell Eating (Su)
(another source of Magical healing in spell eating and Raging Vitality makes your CON effectively 2 points higher and you don't end rage while unconscious so you can fast heal while down to stabilize and get back up)

6 HD: Bloodline Feat- Power Attack

7 HD: Feat- Arcane Strike, Fast Healing/ Increase

8 HD: Greater Arcane Bloodrage (Sp)
(Doesn't every melee frontliner want Displacement to add layered defense to your AC...amazing ability to have as a free action)

9 HD: Feat- Combat Reflexes , Bloodline Feat- Iron Will

10 HD: Fast Healing/ Increase

11 HD: Feat-Bloodied Arcane Strike, Greater bloodrage (Need to take bloodied Arcane strike to free up your swift actions for Raging Brutality and Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier.)

12 HD: Bloodline Feat- Disruptive, Primal Choices: Superstitious & Witch Hunter
(you're giving up Caster's Scourge (Ex) for 2 rage powers. You should already be a caster's worst nightmare with Disruptive Bloodrage (Su), Disruptive feat, and "soon to come" spellbreaker feat. Now add in more damage you're doing to casters and increasing your saves seems more important to me)

13 HD: Feat- Raging Brutality, Fast Healing/ Increase

14 HD: Indomitable will

15 HD: Feat- (what ever seems good to you) ,Bloodline Feat- Spellbreaker

16 HD: Fast Healing/ Increase, Trade out True Arcane Bloodrage (Sp) for Eater of Magic and Come and Get me.

17 HD: Tireless Bloodrage (Su), Feat- (what ever seems good to you)

At level 8 your fully online and super formidable on the front line. Remember to cast or have scrolls of A. Barrier. It turns some damage into non-lethal and fast healing will basically be doubled due to healing effecting both Lethal and Non-lethal.

This Build is very effective.

I recommend either a reach weapon or a High Critical weapon to crit fish with. A Falchion is pure gold.

At least you can draw some inspiration for your own build. That is the Hope.

That build should probably start with Dex or Cha 14 and Con 14, it can get Con to 15 at 4th, in time for Raging Vitality, then level Cha or Dex (whichever wound up a 13) at 8th and Con again at 12th.

Also, it's 25 point-buy.

I'm building an arcane bloodrager for an upcoming Reign of Winter game so I thought I'd poke in here. Going with Power Attack and Raging Vitality at 1st level(human). My basic concept is that my character is descended from a family of witches, but I sadly "lacked" arcane talent from their PoV (Int 7).

I figure I'd go up some of the Arcane Strike tree just because there are so many extra bloodrager feats in the tree. Not sure what feat to take at level 3 though.

Stats if you're interested:

Spoiler:

These were rolled stats on 4d6 drop lowest, min/max PB value 10/20. We have a Maptools macro that rolls the stats and autorejects any that fall outside the 10-20 PB range. So all you see is the final set which will be somewhere near 15 PB.
Str 15 +2 human = 17
Dex 13
Con 15
Int 7
Wis 11
Cha 14

Obviously I'm open to shifting things around but this seems like a pretty good spread to me.

Planning on going THF in general, and avoiding spells with saves due to low save DCs. Taking the campaign trait Failed Winter Witch Apprentice and Tundra Child for the extra cold weather resistance. 3 skill points/level is pretty rough at first, but once I get a decent amount of rage rounds I'll switch from the human FCB to the extra skill point, probably around level 3-5 somewhere. I want to get to 12 or so rage rounds before I feel less like I should conserve them.

As a bloodrager I used cornugon smash and hurtful with the cruel weapon enhancement. Combined with arcane strike, blooded arcane strike, and riving strike it made an incredible effective combination.

Though I didn't have pounce, I had the ability to move and make two attacks a round (almost as good until level 11+) and as I picked up the arcane strike chain I was able to inflict extra damage and inflict status affects that resulted in (I think) a -6 to saves and -4 to attack rolls.

It was an incredibly awesome character to play.
