Just to check: are there any reasons why this combination would not work?

If it works, would it be reasonable to make a character with both archetypes, or would this be too crippling or not worth the tradeoff?

I think since deeds are one class feature, and both modify deeds, it shouldn't stack.

However, otherwise it's ok. It's not like you aren't gimping yourself for taking more than 5 Bolt Ace levels already anyway.

Well, while they both modify Deeds, IIRC, they modify them in non-exclusive ways. As a GM, I would allow it.

They should be compatible.

Bolt Ace modifies/replaces: Weapon Proficiencies, Gunsmith, Deadeye, Quick Clear, Utility Shot, Startling Shot, Expert Loading, Lightning Reload, Menacing Shot, and Gun Training.

Gun Tank modifies/replaces: Armor Proficiency, Gunslingerś Dodge, Evasive, Nimble, and Bonus Feats.

The only issue is that it's not precisely a gun tank if you're using a crossbow.
