Rules Questions

if im an 8th lvl cleric 1st level inquisitor how many domains should i have i currently have healing and fire domains would i get an extra domain from inquisitor or is it just used for stacking the powers of the domains i have as a cleric. btw this is for a gestalt game so my lvls are magus 7 inquisitor 1 / cleric 8 and im taking monster tactician infiltrator archetypes.

From Inquisitor:

Domain (or Inquisition)

Like a cleric’s deity, an inquisitor’s deity influences her alignment, what magic she can perform, and her values. Although not as tied to the tenets of the deity as a cleric, an inquisitor must still hold such guidelines in high regard, despite that fact she can go against them if it serves the greater good of the faith. An inquisitor can select one domain from among those belonging to her deity. She can select an alignment domain only if her alignment matches that domain. With the GM’s approval, an inquisitor can be devoted to an ideal instead of a deity, selecting one domain to represent her personal inclination and abilities. The restriction on alignment domains still applies.

Each domain grants a number of domain powers, depending on the level of the inquisitor. An inquisitor does not gain the bonus spells listed for each domain, nor does she gain bonus spell slots. The inquisitor uses her level as her effective cleric level when determining the power and effect of her domain powers. If the inquisitor has cleric levels, one of her two domain selections must be the same domain selected as an inquisitor. Levels of cleric and inquisitor stack for the purpose of determining domain powers and abilities, but not for bonus spells.

I have no idea how it would work for a gestalt like that.

Normally if you were a cleric 8 inq 1 you'd have one of your domains be at lv9 (the one the inquisitor took) and the other still at lv8.

Ask your DM. There are no official rules for gestalt characters.

so can i assume that because of the one of two domains part means an inquisitor selects 2 domains but 1 has to be from the clerics selection and also could i select any inquisition or does it have to match my deity ?

I think a Inquisitor only get 1 domain.
"An inquisitor can select one domain from among those belonging to her deity."
The part about Cleric means (as far as I can understand) that 1 of he Cleric domains must be the same as the one chosen as Inquisitor.

But it is written a bit confusing, so maybe I'm wrong.

inquisitors only select 1 domain ever. If you have cleric levels you need to pick one of the domains you already have.

ah ok thats a shame was hoping to grab healing fire and glory.

now if i chose an inquisition would that have to share with my dieties portfolio that they have for inquisitions or can i choose any of them ?

If you have cleric levels you MUST pick one of the two you have from the cleric. Clerics can take Inquisitions too, just not as useful since they miss out on the bonus spells.

So if you Start Inquisitor(Inq) you can choose a domain or inquisition(inq) appropriate to your god.
If you then go into cleric you keep the choice you've already made and add a second one.
If you start cleric you choose 2 domains and or inq appropriate to your god. If you then go into Inq you choose one of those two and keep increasing it.

Now this being Gestalt I could see that each side works separately and thus allowing you to pick your Inq as if you were a lv1 and no cleric levels. Or something because you probable don't let them stack to charge up twice as fast.

yeah its technically 2 seperate sides with his ruling on prestige classes if i had wanted to go exalted or something id have to use the cleric side or what ever side qualified for it and then keep increasing the prestige class to max level before choosing something else on that side but could choose whatever i wanted on the other side.
