That's how I feel whenever Daylight Savings Time rolls around; all that extra sun time. It burns us.
Oh, good grief, yes. I live west of work. DST always means driving into the sun...both ways if I'm unlucky enough to get stuck there late.

OH I hate that!
I live west of New Orleans, so when we go to visit my father in law, and it's an early/late trip, (NO is 2 hours away) I get blinded both directions.So painful. :(
(And of course I stare into lights for a living). ;P
Why can't they just ALL do it MY way, as it should be? :D
I know what you mean. I used to run lights for a couple of local bands when I was in my 20s. I had a great time but I made it clear I was completely in charge of the lights.. lol

I am not hungering... lol My chronic pain has been really bad today and the pain meds just ain't cuttin' it. So I've eaten all day to try to substitute one sensation for the other. A bad, bad idea but I just gave in to it.

On the plus side, I am finally catching up on Secret Wars.
WWE Champion and Pittsburgh Wrestling legend Bruno Sanmartino died today at the age of 82 from heart problems.
Wow, I thought he was older than that.

Cool miniseries, I still remember buying issue 8 off of the rack the cover with the Black Costume was so memorable.

Yeah, some kids from across the pond right? I hear they might be OK in England, but they'll never make it big over here. ;P
I can't stand to watch TV by itself or to do manual labor by itself, but I'm fine watching TV while I work on projects. It's the only reason I manage to see anything. Drive time is for podcasts, 'cause watching videos then is a tad bit dangerous. So the cops keep telling me.
Trying to sit through a TV show or movie without something else to do is like having ants crawling under my skin and bees in my skull.

Speaking of ADHD, I'm constantly amazed at the articles bemoaning the state of schools today. They can't seem to figure out the correlation between:
1. ADD/ADHD being "on the rise" and
2. Certain school activities being cut, like
a. Recess
b. PE
c. Visual arts
d. Music
e. Theater
Geez, people. Guess we need to get Big Pharma right on that s+~%, huh?

Not to mention the general complaint of "everyone claims they have mental illnesses/problems these days" and, oh I don't know, the fact that we're now - compared to when most of the complainers were young - far better at detecting them earlier, diagnosing them properly, treating them directly, and acknowledging they exist as anything beyond the "in your face, socially incapable" types of malady.
This may be an Issue for me as of late. <twitch>

I've been reading the reviews for the new Lost in Space on imdb.com, and about half say it's awful for technical reasons, while the other half say it's virulently PC and white-bashing. The main family is blended with the oldest child being multi-racial, and there are families of Asian and African descent as well as obvious Europeans.
I'm getting from this that "PC pandering" means "showing people who don't look and act like me and my family." Also, the existance of people of color is "shoving diversity in their faces."
Wow, folks. Those reviews say a lot more about you than about the show.
That said, my white middle-class college friend who adopted five children of (different) colors loves the show.
When his wife was walking with the kids in public and was asked if they were all hers, she loved to say, "yep, but they all had different dads" and watch people's faces.
She wasn't lying, of course. They were all hers by adoption, and they all did have different biological dads.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell, yes.
That's just one example. I was pretty livid that night, and unfortunately was in a position where I could not say anything for fear of some immensely-problematic retribution.
I've lost parts of 2 sets of dice. I've not used these sets in forever and I keep them in dicebags. Dice are the closest I come to OCD. It's driving me crazy. Time to listen to some WASP to calm down.

So, we opened the Opera last night, (Humperdink's Hansel and Gretel), with no problems, no major sound issues (except the sound guy who has only ever done studio mixing before, never live) and no lighting notes! :)
ANd glorious dry ice fog! :)
So I come in to work this morning, and decide to turn on a work light.
Nothing. 20 minutes of slowly-increasing panic later, my dimmer rack number 2 brain has gone dead. AGAIN. (Just had this @#$%^& fixed not 2 months ago!)
after a very panicked phone call to the guy who repaired it, (he cant figure why it not working either without looking at it) and realizing there is NO way he can ship me anything by tonight (NJ to Louisiana in less than 12 hours?, not happening) so he finds a client in mid-Louisiana who actually isn't using a brain from the same rack,
SO I Hop my wizardly @$$ in the car, and drive 3 hours straight, (total there and back, NO stops) to grab this brain, bring it back and make it work. O_O
The show must go on.
I. Need. New. Equipment. -_-
Our tech mantra for this show has become,... "It's fine. It's Fine. EVERYthing's fine!" ;P

Everything I bought today was 50% off or BOGO, except for dinner.
When I got home with it, I found they had tossed an extra shrimp burrito in the bag.

Could be that Prohibition stopped being a thing about 80-odd years ago resulted in a whole bunch of holidays becoming 'Let's Get Tanked Day'. 5th May, 4th of July, Labor Day ... pretty much all of 'em, depending on whom you ask.
For me this falls under the very large mountain of things that qualify as "why is this a thing, exactly?" Y'know, celebrities in panties on their social media feeds, reality TV in toto, and so on.
People have their things that other people do not have as things. Live and let live, so long as it's not being shoved down my yap.

In college my friends and I started celebrating "Rage Day" on the 4th of July, wherein we got absolutely tanked and listened to only Rage Against The Machine.

In college every day was "Let's Get Tanked Day". I took a Literature final so drunk I passed out on the way back to my dorm. A friend of mine found me under a low branching magnolia tree and had to drag me out and get me on my feet. Yeah, that year was a blurry blast.

As someone who neither smokes, drinks, nor partakes in any nonmedicinal drug use, this makes every day "look at/watch the intoxicated people doing funny things day" for me.
I've never smoked a day in my life (anything) but in my callow youth I could and would drink nearly anything you put in front of me. I've done some pretty foolish things in my past, but some really funny ones, too. I guess it balances out. I've been drunk one time in the last 28 years and the hangover was so bad I haven't done it since.
I've done only foolish things after I turned 30 because the other time I did something stupid at age 22, I was out a broken heart and 200 dollars. Plus I'm pretty sure I'm no long allowed in one part of Kansas, but I can't remember which part.

I was banned from the Memphis Zoo for life in 1986, but I'm pretty sure they've forgotten about me by now.
