Worgs are medium-sized, but have enough STR to be able to hold a medium-sized creature on them.
Is it possible to use the Monstrous Mount feat to obtain a medium-sized mount as a Cavalier?
As far as I know, there's only a small Ride penalty associated with using an undersized mount.
PS: The Undersized Mount feat does nothing, I know that.

"You've learned techniques that allow you to ride beasts of smaller sizes than normal.
Prerequisite(s): Ride 1 rank.
Benefit: You can ride creatures of your size category, although encumbrance or other factors might limit how you can use this ability.
Normal: Typically a mount suited for you is at least one size category larger than you."
Actually the feat does do something...
An unsuitable mount is a -5 to ride checks, that's a pretty big penalty.
From Ride:
" If you attempt to ride a creature that is ill suited as a mount, you take a –5 penalty on your Ride checks."

To answer your original question, we have just used Leadership instead of Monstrous Mount... Keeps things simple IMO.
We use monster CR to equate to level, subject to GM opinion of course. A Worg is hardly overpowered as far as mounts go, and at CR 2, by the time you get Leadership, could conceivably have five class levels added to it...

Is your cavalier LE, N, CE, or NE?

As an animal companion/mount it would automatically receive the animal companion progression and altered base stats that other animal companions get. You wouldn't need to add any class levels, and honestly you should probably be adding magical beast hit dice, anyway.

Yeah, I hate animal companion progression if I can take Leadership instead... ;)

Of course, sticking with the mount class feature saves a feat.
