Highest DC Poison?

Rules Questions

What is the poison with the highest DC?

Adding to that, have there been any new poisons added? The list I'm looking at doesn't seem to have changed much since the last time I looked at it.

The best choice is the alchemist archtype that makes his own. You can hit a 32 or so DC at level 10 no problem.

Eldritch poisoner?

DC = 10 + 1/2 the eldritch poisoner's alchemist level + her Intelligence modifier. That's like DC 21-23 at level 10. Even with a sneak attack it would only be 2 DC higher.
What would buff it up to 32?

Scarab Sages

Do natural attacks with poison count?

With enough Con boosts (like bear's endurance), Animal Companions can boast some of the stronger poisons.

Scarab Sages

Hmm...level 5 Sylvan Mutatedbloodline Sorcerer (druid would probably be better, but I'm lazy and this is a concept I've considered recently). Human, Eye for talent racial trait (+2 to animal companion ability score).

Giant Ant Vermin Companion
Base 15 Con
+2 Con and gains a poison attack at 4th level (17 con).
+2 Con Human Eye for talent (19 Con).
+1 Con ability score increase at level 4 (20 con)

Poison DC is found here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/rules-for-monsters/universal-monster-rule s#TOC-Poison-Ex-or-Su-) for animal companions.

Or rather, it's 1/2 HD + their Con modifier. So at 5th level, the companion has 5 HD, so he's got a DC 17 poison built in.

At 5th level, the sorcerer can cast Bear's Endurance 4 times per day (without bonus spells). Even a single casting is +4 Con, which makes it 19 DC for the ant's poison.

And that doesn't even get into feats that give animal companion item slots (which would require increasing INT to gain access to, so the vermin companion is probably out).

If you mean, what is the highest poison you can buy with the highest DC? Just take a look at the poison chart, and see which ones cost the most.

It seems that "Widow's Kiss" is up there with 24DC

tears of death is a close second with 22DC

black Lotus extract is right below that with 20DC

Followed by King's sleep at 19DC.

There are some nifty classes that can Really boost poison's use effectivity.
From what I have seen the Veneficus Witch archetype is really good at creating and administering, while eventually boosting the DC's. Not to mention they get some alchemist discoveries instead of hexes.

Alchemists by themselves have access to discoveries that really make poison more versatile and stronger.

And Lastly, Rogues have some feats that have to do with poisoning. The poisoner archetype is nifty since it allows you to change one type of poison into another (contact to injury, inhaled to digested, etc etc)

Use multiple doses. Each dose adds +2 to the DC. How high can you afford to go?

Toxicant alchemist i think has the best poison DC. Granted its more a status effect poison not pure damaging.

In theory GM allowing anyway. you can boost the DC more. Ability focus, sneak attack change over, and a few other things too.

as mentioned above if it is inhaling or ingested poison then you can stack up multiple doses to raise the DC. Costy unless you are an eldrtich poisoner or toxicant with that switching discovery (assuming it works)

really though the best way is to use that dagger that gives +2 DC or that Elven Curve Blade that removes -4 from the save effectively giving +4 bonus.

and in all cases its best coming from an alchemist.
After all theyu get the poison switching type discovery, a discovery that lets it work on naturally immune stuff, and a +4 dc discovery at level 10

If you are also including monster's poisons, the tarn linnorm has some ridiculous poison.

Bite-injury; save Fort DC 32; frequency 1/round for 10 rounds; effect 6d6 acid damage and 1d8 Con drain; cure 3 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution-based.
