Vivisectionist essentially trades sneak attack for bombs, if you want the sneak attack there is no way you are getting bombs as that would be getting the best of both worlds. If it is some other aspect of vivisctionist you want you could ask your GM if you can have bombs instead of sneak attack I would consider allowing that.
If you want both I would of course say no.
As Claxon says you can not burn a discovery to get bombs all you can do is spend a discovery to for instance change your bombs to so shock damage , of course as you don't have bombs this does nothing for you.
There is a rogue talent and a wizard archetype which get bombs you could multi-class to get them from them form one of those however that will result in you being fairly poor with both classes

No offense, but what are you talking about?
He's trying to get back his bomb class feature, and I suppose you're suggesting that he not take the Vivisectionist archetype (which grants the sneak attack).
You are instead suggesting to multiclass alchemist rogue? However that will be one crappy character. He wont get the progression of his alchemist abilities (like bombs, extracts or mutagens) enough to be terrible helpful, or he wont get sneak attack enough to make it terribly helpful.
He will have to choose between progressing one or the other, there is basically no way he can have both and have them be good.

I thinks he's suggesting the OP to dip into 2 level of Rogue for Bomber Rogue Talent?
That talent use your Sneak Attack damage to determine bomb damage, so it should gives Vivisectionist a full bomb progression.

That is a good idea but not exactly. The Rogue gets Sneak attack and Talents. A base Alchemist gets all of it's abilities. Depending on his idea and build he may multiclass only a few levels in either one or take both to equal levels. I think the Vivisectionist is a dumb archtype in my opinion. Some love this archtype feeling giving up bombs is worth it. I don't and that's why I don't like this archtype and would suggest Rogue multiclass then actually taking this archtype.
