Occultist Implements Question

If an Occultist takes a mundane item as an implement at level one, can they later buy a magical item and use that as an implement in place of the original?

dont be so hard on yourself

also get heavy armor proficiency at level 1 so you can rock that 12 DEX for 20 AC with full plate

Not only that, they can change their implements as they see fit (when they recharge their implements at the start of the day.). So if your shield that you are using as an abjuration impliment gets sundered, the next day you can use your charm bracelet.

Like Secret Wizard said, there's no need to feel bad. The Occultist is definitely one of the more difficult classes to figure out, but it is worth the effort.
