Does Improved Natural Attack stack with the Rageshaper's Beastial Aspect ability?

Rules Questions

I'm building a Bloodrager (Primalist/Rageshaper) with the Draconic bloodline, and also planning on going into Dragon Disciple at level 6.

I'm wanting to maximize my claw attack, so I'm wondering if Improved Natural Attack (INA) and Beastial Aspect (BA) stack with one another.

My DM is saying that they don't based on this link . He's saying that both are effective size increases. He's allowing Enlarge person to stack with either INA or BA.

Here's the link to Beastial Aspect

and

Improved Natural Attack

This looks like exactly the circumstance that the FAQ prohibits.

Yup. Only 1 effective size increase is allowed (INA or BA) along with 1 actual size increase (enlarge person). Your GM is correct.

While improved natural attack is a virtual size increase, Beastial aspect is not as it never makes any mention of size or size increases. They should stack with each other and enlarge person.

Your GM appears to be incorrect.

Thank you for the clarity of your question and the links.

edit: or just re read the FAQ. I am incorrect, your GM is correct my apologies.

I mostly asked this question to have it confirmed on the Paizo site for others looking to maximize natural attacks.

Would anyone know of any other ways to increase the potency of natural attacks (other than Magic Fang and Amulet of Mighty Fists...of course)? I'll be using BA for my claws, and then taking INA for my bite once I have it through Dragon Disciple.

Wouldn't BA and INA count as effective size increases?

"The same is true of effective size increases (which includes “deal damage as if they were one size category larger than they actually are,” “your damage die type increases by one step,” and similar language). They don’t stack with each other, just take the biggest one. "

Yep, I was incorrect as noted in my edit. I had just read the abilities and misremembered the FAQ to require mention of size, but upon rereading the FAQ it is as you stated.

Scarab Sages

Convent has a point. Bestial Aspect only states "increase the damage done by that attack by one die", it does not state that is a size increase, nor does it necessarily follow the standard size increase rules. For example, if you had a natural attack that did 1d8, a size increase would make it do 2d6. Bestial Aspect would simply increase it to 1d10.

What this means is that Bestial Aspect is horribly written. It should be a size increase, to fix the questions of stacking and the die increase, but it's not.

Edit: I forgot that portion of the FAQ too, apparently.

They don't stack, because the FAQ is better written than the ability.

Noone likes you get off the Paizo forum. Loser.

Note: I know him in real life so im allowed to raz him.

I'll allow it!

edit: do you know me or Imbicatus?

The ability IS horribly written! It doesn't actually say bloodline power, instead it says bloodrage power, which would be a barbarian rage power option.
