The last time the legion f%%%ers tried to get a drop on me I was traveling besides a well armed merchant caravan.
The hardest part was not using explosives so I wouldn't hit the caravan guards, and the legion f!s even killed the merchant so I could loot him guilt free (which actually put me over 2,000 caps).

The boomers are as far northeast as you can go if you want some serious firepower. Take the guy's warning for how to get in, you'll die otherwise. They're friendly...once you get past the howitzers.
Nah. That is not too hard. Two ro three doses of Turbo works wonders for the Boomers.

Why would you waste turbo? Just hug the wall to the fence between shots, just like the guy warns you, and you make it clean. They're super friendly, and once the bombing stops you can loot the dead paladin and start the brotherhood quests, and between brotherhood and boomers you have end game weapons and armor!

If only you could take Moira with you in 3.
Love talking to Veronica, I got her a better punchy thing, still haven't looked for a dress yet, eventually, she looks pretty hot in an armored vault suit tho. :-)
for a dress that she would like you can get one from the white glove society

I think you have to do the FIRST part of his quest...find the three dead Paladins...one is in the boomers howitzer field, one in the space museum I think on the third floor, and one is around the corner from the Brotherhood guarded by some centaurs. Veronica can wear Brotherhood faction armor with NO aggro from their enemies, so save their armor for her!
After that you can tell the Elder to stuff it and do Harding's boring quest. Then, he wants you to kill the entire store Silver Rush to join. They have a LOT of good loot, but are a hard kill.
The easy way to kill them I to work for them as a guard at the front door and then let in the guy who says "all I have is this revolver" without searching him. He is packing C4 and will do all the work for you...

Huh, I never went along with Paladin Hardin, he's a jerk and you get a more militant Brotherhood out of it in the ending slides.
If you do go along with him and you ARE sent to kill the Silver Rush, get Cass first and do her quest, since her storyline also ties in with the folks at the Silver Rush (she'll be pissed off if you killed them without her). She also gives you bonuses when you drink whiskey and isn't a bad shot.
From upthread --- if you're fast enough, you can kill Benny in the Tops when you first see him. It's kind of hilarious. It doesn't break anything, either--although it does set all of the Chairmen hostile, which means you miss out on a couple minor sidequests. There's a LOT of ways to deal with Benny, which I like. One playthrough I killed him as soon as I saw him, one he got away and I tracked him down again and then decided what to do with him, another I actually talked him into bed with me and then punched him in the face until he was dead. Good times.
Cap'n Yesterday, vault 22 is nasty but it has a lot of useful stuff for a number of quest lines (in addition to the Brotherhood, also an NCR quest too--look in the tunnels underneath Vault 22. I think another quest too.). Also, if you find enough Vault suits and sell them to Sarah Weintraub in Vault 21 on the Strip, she'll sleep with you. (Because obviously that's the most important reason to do anything. ;) )

The companions, if, or when you ditch them, will you find them again in the place you first found them. For instance, if I ditch Veronica will I find her hanging at the trading post if I want to pick her up again.
Edit: I assume so but just thought I'd confirm it first.
Where you found them, unless you specifically ask them to wait at House's casino.

Yes I got both (whatever they're for) I'll figure it out. :-)
the golf club is a unique weapon and his head is for a bounty hunting quest where you have to take out 3 of the fiends leaders Driver Nephi, Violet, and Cook Cook(don't mangle the heads for max amount of caps)

Stuck right now in Vault 22, I'll probably abandon it until I can fix the elevator (science! Curse you!) I'm at 40 but need 50 but I killed all the a$@~*+! plant a&*@&~%s (swarming f~@#ers!) Which drained my Stimpaks (which, it turns out are addictive, sigh) to unacceptable levels, so next time, topside I go!
For awhile...

What about mentats or the science magazine - if you have access to those, they should help get you the science skill you need.
Also, I don't remember Stimpaks being addictive - are you sure about that?
