I've given my players Mythic Tiers, Cohorts and Scaling Weapons. What's next?

Advice

Just as stated in the title, I'm running a campaign at my LFGS where the players are gaining mythic tiers, each has a scaling weapon that grows in power with them (courtesy of Purple Duck Games' Legendary Weapons), and they are each gaining a cohort through usage of Ultimate Relationships and the Leadership Handbook. I've found that each one of these additions enriches the game and the experience and the players really enjoy it.

My question is, what else is there? Is there another rules subsystem I can access to give the players another benefit that can enrich a part of the game that I haven't considered?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Gestalt is about the only thing left probably. It opens up character concepts impossible in the normal rule set.

Templates for everybody? Backgrounds I think are 3PP as well, and since you are tapping that why not reach back using the SRD and access UA from 3.5 and unlock Gestalt as well and on top of that stack the Variant Multiclass from Unchained.

Kingmaker: Let them be real-estate owners.
Ultimate Campaign: Let them be generals (I hope I sourced that one right lol)
Jade Regent: Let them run a Caravan!

There's so much in Pathfinder. They could be Admirals too and be loaded with all kinds of techno-goodies from Numeria.

My advice would depend on what kind of story your table is looking to tell.

There's a page of optional rule systems here, and d20srd.com has a few more.

That said, I totally get where they're coming from on the scaling-weapon thing. XD I LOVE having an iconic piece of gear that's good throughout the campaign and serves as a thematic centerpoint for the character.

I'll second the suggestion of templates, especially some of these.

You might also consider kingdom building or utilizing Ultimate Commander.

There are also scaling magic items other than weapons, but I don't know how they would work in conjunction with the scaling weapons you are already using.

Silver Crusade

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Maps, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Maps Subscriber

The various faction rules, of which many of the PFS rules are a limited application of, are also pretty good and hold up decently.

Thanks for the great suggestions, everyone. I've never looked too closely at gestalt, so it will take some study on my part.

Maybe we can start looking into kingdom building before long. I've always turned a bit of a blind eye to that prospect because it seems like it would just be more book work than actual in-game fun, but I'll give it a closer look.

@Deranged_Maniac_Ben - I do have one character that uses a weapon made from the One Bling to Rule Them All rules. For some reason, Purple Duck never made a scaling scimitar, so I put one together from the Interjection Games supplement.

I actually prefer gestalt because it allows for complex character ideas that are unworkable with just a single class or normal multiclassing. I also play mainly in low-player PbP games, so it helps out on that end, too. XD

It helps to specify your intentions, though. Used one way, it can make a fair, balanced character that's still completely appropriate for the game's assumptions. Used another way, it can create ludicrously broken characters that are far stronger than the game (or you) has planned for. So... definitely talk to the players about it, and ask them to refrain from anything that stacks TOO much.

Gestalt is better for giving your players more power but not giving them gamebreaking abilities like mythic does.

Unless they Gestalt two Synergistic themes. A Fighter/Wizard can still only act so much per turn while that same Fighter spliced with Rogue will wreck anyone's day. Can you imagine what an Arcanist/Wizard Gestalt would be able to pull off? Or how silly a Barbarian/Bloodrager would be...

Action economy is what stops a lot of Gestalt concepts from running out of control (two characters with one set of actions) whereas Mythic out of the box unlocks offensive uses for Swift for example.

Arcanist//wizard doesn't get much more than extra spell slots - and mythic gives you plenty of those already.

Barbarian//bloodrager doesn't stack rage, sadly. Otherwise it'd be good.

Paladin//Daring Champion cavalier can add 1-4 times his level to damage on his attacks at any given time though, as an example of two things focused on the same thing that synergize well.

My favorite gestalts are:

1. Kensai/Wizard (dex build)
2. Kensai/Synthesist (bipedal str build)
3. Barbarian/Rogue

All get to use the full abilities of both classes without worrying about action economy or becoming MAD.

Gestalt can also make Prestige Classes viable, you can dip into a different class for the first few levels and go full into a Prestige class when you qualify, all while maintaining your full levels in your primary class.

So, you could go Cavalier10/Bard5/Battle Herald5 for instance.

Grand Lodge

Automatic Bonus Progression

This gives the needed items inherently for a PC to survive the power level of the game scaling up.
