Gestalt Witch / Mesmerist?

Advice

Would this combo work at all? A specialist at really messing with people's heads.

I know Hypnotic Stare and Evil Eye don't stack, but since the stare is a swift, it softens up the save for Evil Eye, or if you don't care about debuffing saves other than will, lets you get a different Evil Eye debuff in on the same round.

Would the "Psychic Inception" Bold Stare allow the Witch hexes to effect mindless/mind-effecting immune creatures?

At first look, yes, hexes would work if Psychic Inception was successful.

If you want a character who can influence the world just by looking at it, this is definitely one way you could do it. XD

This sounds like a really nice combo for gestalt, actually, although it's a bit MAD since you want high Charisma and high Intelligence for save DCs.

I don't see why Hypnotic Stare shouldn't attack with Evil Eye, since HS is an untyped penalty. That could be my own lack of rules knowledge, though.

I think Psychic Inception should work with all your mind-affecting spells and abilities. They just have to be under the effect of your Hypnotic Stare.

They are called out as not stacking in the Hypnotic Stare text.

Well there you have it! You could still use Evil Eye for different penalties, though.

Not only does it work... it works really well. One of my players is a gestalt witch/mez and the flavor and crunch both work extremely well together.

Any build/archetype suggestions?

I was thinking maybe Spirit Walker Mesmerist, to be able to hit any undead that come along with hexes/spells really easily.

Thinking of going with the Insanity Patron for Witch. Seems like it fits best with the theme of just wrecking people's minds. Not sure about archetypes (if any) for the Witch though. Not Scarred Witch Doctor, but any of the others I'm undecided on.

Well, he went Cartomancer Witch and vanilla mesmertist because he was a gambler. Psychic inception is usually enough to handle mindless creatures, Spirit Walker seems like way too much unless your playing an undead heavy game.

The description of the upcoming campaign mentioned ghosts a bunch, so I figured it was a safe bet. If not, the archetype only replaces Touch Treatments, which aren't too huge of a loss.
