Advice

Grand Lodge

So I'm planning to have one of my characters follow the following level advancement to become an Arcane Archer; Fighter (Lore Warden) 1/Wizard (???) 5/ EK 3/ Arcane Archer (Whatever)

She is an elf and for PFS purposes (her name is Celegil, if you're interested in her current build, look at her people page).

Her feat progression will be something like this;

1: Point-Blank Shot
F: Precise Shot
W: Spell Focus (Evocation or Conjuration Probably)
3: Rapid Shot
5: Deadly Aim
W2: Advice Appreciated here as well
7: Weapon Focus (Longbow)
EK: Focused Shot or Elven Accuracy
9: Clustered Shot
11: Manyshot

Any advice or aid on the feat progress would be appreciated, as well as choosing what her focused school and opposition schools as a wizard will be. If possible, I'd appreciate a good explanation as to why certain choices should be made.

As for the class level progression and race, those are set, and I will not change them.

Thanks in advance!

I'm confused about how you are getting Spell Focus. Where is that feat coming from?

In PFS wizards get spell focus for free instead of scribe scroll

Oh. Learn something new every day. Thanks Chess Pwn.

Celegil, my favorite Wizard school for Arcane Archer is Divination. Whether you a casting a spell or shooting arrows, getting an initiative boost and always getting to act in surprise rounds are great. (Picking up a sixth level of Wizard brings your initiative bonus to +3). For opposition schools I like Enchantment since I'm likely going to want to dump charisma anyway and necromancy since it doesn't have many spells that are archery-boosting or area spells that work with Imbur Spell.

Evocation: Admixture has the ability to turn any energy spell into a [Cold] spell, which then lets you apply Rime Spell to it for no-save entangled targets. Works well with the Wayang Spell Hunter trait to make Rime a no-cost boost for your favorite evocation.

Conjuration: Teleport lets you teleport around with swift actions, which has it's uses for an archer - not just escaping from melee, but getting around cover...

Transmutation: Enhancement gets you a +2 to a physical score - it doesn't stack with an item or spell enhancement, but you can apply it to strength for more composite bow damage.
