Hear me out: Alchemical Illumination is label as "Sp" and it allows the Investigator to cast certain light spells. So, would this make the Investigator a possible Arcane Striker? It seems possible to me, I just need to see if any of you see anything I do not that would make this impossible.
Edit: Here is the relevant text regarding the ability in question:
Alchemical Illumination (Sp)
At 2nd level, as a standard action, a lamplighter can cast certain light spells by burning a magic extract, infusion, or potion of a spell of the same or greater level than the light spell in a lit lantern or torch. If the spell has a range of touch, the lantern or torch counts as the object touched. The spell's DC, if any, equals 10 + spell level + the lamplighter's Intelligence modifier.
At 2nd level, the lamplighter can cast light and continual flame (24 hour duration).
At 5th level, the lamplighter can cast daylight and discovery torch.
At 8th level, the lamplighter can cast searing light.
At 11th level, the lamplighter can cast judgment light. The lamplighter need not have an active judgment to cast this spell, can choose what color of judgment light is created, can use his alignment for golden light, and can select any element for copper light.
This ability replaces poison lore, poison resistance, and poison immunity.

No. Spell-like Abilities no longer work that way.
Spell-Like Abilities, Casting, and Prerequisites: Does a creature with a spell-like ability count as being able to cast that spell for the purpose of prerequisites or requirements?
Only if the pre-requisite calls out the name of a spell explicitly. For instance, the Dimensional Agility feat (Ultimate Combat) has "ability to use the abundant step class feature or cast dimension door" as a prerequisite; a barghest has dimension door as a spell-like ability, so the barghest meets the "able to cast dimension door prerequisite for that feat. However, the barghest's dimension door would not meet requirements such as "Ability to cast 4th level spells" or "Ability to cast arcane spells".

Ah, okay. The fact that it doesn't fill the "Ability to cast arcane spells" like I thought it might ruins that scheme. Thank you, Gisher.

No, but the Spell Knowledge discovery would allow you to take Arcane Strike, or anything else that needs a Arcane spell prerequisite.
Your studies into how all things are interconnected have taught you to cast a very limited number of spells. Select a single spell from the sorcerer/wizard spell list that is at least 2 levels lower than your highest-level extract known. You can prepare and cast this spell as an arcane spell. Preparing the spell uses up an extract slot 1 level higher than the spell’s level. Your caster level is equal to your alchemist level, and your save DCs and concentration checks are Intelligence-based. You’re considered to have this spell on your spell list for purposes of prerequisites, spell completion items, and spell trigger items.
You may select this discovery more than once. Each time, it grants you access to another spell from the sorcerer/wizard spell list.

I wish it did work. Arcane strike is one of my favorite feats. Alchemists now can take the Spell Knowledge Discovery to get a real arcane caster level, but there still isn't any option for Investigators.
I've been thinking of making a sylph Investigator and getting Elemental Strike (from Inner Sea Races) instead, but it isn't quite as good.
Edit: Partially ninja'd by Imbicatus. :)

Unfortunately that discovery isn't on the Investigator list.

No, it isn't. (sad face)
