Forgive the blunt question, but I'm looking for any kind of material regarding this topic.
A half-fiend character has been captured, and will be subjected to Detect Thoughts and Mark of Justice; she can try to resist with her Spell Resistance, but will the caster somehow "know" the spell failed (and why)?
To expand the topic: how about a successful Will save? Of course the caster does not get any information with spells such as "Detect THoughts", but what about Charm Person or the like? I once remember reading something like the -target- gets the feeling of something forcing his or her mind when allowed a save (so no spell spamming from hiding), but does the caster get any feedback from purely mental spells?

I'd say for dismissable spells yes. You would have to have a link of magic to "dismiss". For concentration absolutely. For the rest? I don't think so. Nothing ties the caster to the spell if they aren't linked in a way (like detect thought would be ) so nothing I know says you know of they are under enchantment or not.

Succeeding on a Saving Throw: A creature that successfully saves against a spell that has no obvious physical effects feels a hostile force or a tingle, but cannot deduce the exact nature of the attack. Likewise, if a creature's saving throw succeeds against a targeted spell, you sense that the spell has failed. You do not sense when creatures succeed on saves against effect and area spells.
Most GMs also agree that you know if a spell failed because the target did not meet the target restrictions. (For example, you cast a "target object" spell on a creature that is disguised as a statue.) Although many do not allow you to distinguish between this kind of failure, and a spell failing because the creature made it's saving throw or had SR.
(Which has led to my (extremely paranoid) bloat mage "pinging" every statue he encounters with the message cantrip. It is a no save, no SR, cantrip that only works on creatures... If it succeeds you are about to get attacked. But after the 3rd (4th? maybe 5th? I have actually lost count) time he has been attacked by statues, he is a little tired of it.)

Also tangentially useful:
Sense Enchantment: You can tell that someone's behavior is being influenced by an enchantment effect even if that person isn't aware of it. The usual DC is 25, but if the target is dominated (see dominate person), the DC is only 15 because of the limited range of the target's activities.
