I was e-listening to another players build for his Battle Host and it got me thinking:
Is it ever possible to get special material and/or magic armor for the Battle Host's armor?
...
Maybe that breaks down into multiple questions:
1) Is there any method to upgrade the material of an already-owned suit of armor?
2) If the character already has a suit of armor before multi-classing into Battle Host, can that armor become the implement?
And, as bonus questions:
3) Can vents be included in the item's design?
4) Can armor spikes be added at a later date?
5) Can the armor be consecrated?
6) Does the Battle Host have to be wearing the armor, or is it enough to have his armor "at hand" in order to trigger that implement?

the battle host's armor is supposed to be something like a relic.
it contains and can contain power due to some psychic significance. Maybe a family heirloom, maybe the armor that the last king of Nerdrage was buried for a hundred years. The armor the Hero wore to go slay the evil countess of doom and save the city of uselessness and etc.
Given the above, i can't find a way to actually completly "change" the armor. So (1) would be a no-go imo.
(2) is easier, just make it so background or lore wise. Obviously, the armor you crafted like a week ago would be hard pressed to somehow have psychic significance, but maybe the armor you bought from the blacksmith was actually passed down to him from an adventurer that found it in a dungeon or something, and you, by wearing, awoke it.
You get the drift.
armor spikes can be added, since they are like extra items and dont alter the base form. Consecrated... i don't see why not. Unless you go out of your way to like hammer the holy symbol in or something. Vents.. i don't even?

Thanks Shroudb. That kind of what I expected.

Does anybody know the answers to these two questions?
2) If the character already has a suit of armor before multi-classing into Battle Host, can that armor become the implement?
6) Does the Battle Host have to be wearing the armor, or is it enough to have his armor "at hand" in order to trigger that implement?

I guess I could have included a link to the Battle Host as well as to the occultist.
But, still no insights on questions 2) & 6)?

Not really needed, if they aren't familiar with the content, they won't be able to help with your questions now will they? ;)
