Background: The first part of Snows of Summer takes place on Earth: Forest of Dean, England 1941. All pcs are evacuated kids between 10 and 14. Soulbound Doll is one of their schoolmates. It is evident that the gate is to expand into Earth.
Special rules:
Characters are human...apparently and intially. Will probably apply one wookie rule.
Initally, everyone has access to improvised weapons, clubs etc and no magic. When they meet the rider he will provide standard equitment, familars, spell books, etc. Once in Irrisen characters will intuitively know how to swing a sword, cast a spell, etc. Combats will be simularly adjusted to account for weaker characters.
Players will pick class destined for at start of campaign even though they will initially be npc classes.
Ancestors will show up in Rastputin Must Die.
What I'm looking for:
Suggestions for sources, ww2 era equitment, british slang, etc.
Tie inns etc and anything else that might be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

This alternate beginning reminds me of Narnia. Perhaps you could use the similarities to your advantage.
Be careful with the improvised weapons in the first adventure, as the encounters are deadly. But if they are kids, you could provide them with some help (a satyr or other fey who worries about the disturbance of nature perhaps), like in Narnia.

I'm curious how you will account for the time travel from 1941 to later being in 1918.
Also, the mega plot of the AP is to save Golarian, why would characters from earth care more about Golarian then getting back home?
I really like the idea If I was doing it I would have them start in England around 1917, probably make them nobility and they meet the Russian royal family on their visit to England (they actually made this trip to England around this time I forget what year it was, 1915 I think). I'd have to re-right the player motivation, it's already difficult to get the players to bight into the idea of helping Baba-yaga

Time Travel- they go through a gate in 1941. They show up through a hut in 1918. Basically, the characters know that it happened and that Irresrani magic has the ability drop you anywhere (or perhaps in a given window) of Earth history.
Also, there are hints that there have been other visitors. For example, that girl who was dropped off in the orphange 12 years ago and is now pc. She's a changeling. And yes, grandmum is not a Russian exile like you thought.
Threat to Golarion-- Evalina opened a gate to Earth in this alternate entry rather than Taldor. Presumably an invasion force is being prepared. Also, to get home, they know one person who can do this; Baba Yaga.
