I've recently attempted to start a PBP campaign here on the threads, and after running into difficulties figuring out how to do so, I've noticed there's little to no actual info on how to do this correctly. There MUST be a way somewhere, as I've seen countless PBP's and participated in several; I simply cannot find documentation on how this is done.
Since this is a feedback section, I would suggest revising the site to make this process a little more apparent, or just sticky some instructions somewhere...
Have you checked out the stickied threads in the Online Campaigns General Discussion forum? This one, in particular?

I've actually read that thread and enjoyed it immensely; sadly, though it contains wonderful advice on improving your play-by-post experience, I haven't spotted anything that actually provides clear instruction on how to start the PBP. Maybe I've done something wrong, but I haven't a clue what it is, and no errors or instructions to help me identify the problem.
What are you having a problem with? The first step is to Create New Thread in either the Recruitment forum (if you're looking for players) or in the Discussion forum (if you already have your group together). From there, you'll be prompted to create a gameplay thread.

As Joana says, first go to the Recruitment sub-forum, then click the "Add New Thread" link (it's near the top, to the right of the forum title).
As the owner of a recruitment thread, you can attach a gameplay and discussion thread when you're ready. (Click the appropriate tab, and it will ask whether to attach an existing thread or create a new one.)
