Warpriest favored class bonus

"Gain ⅙ of a new bonus combat feat."

Im new to pathfinder, so I was hoping someone could explain what this means for a human warpriests favored class bonus.

Does this mean instead of getting an additional skill or HP ponit, we get a new combat feat every level?

Welcome to Pathfinder!

So the listed bonus is that you gain of a new bonus combat feat. That means every six times you take this favored class bonus, you gain one bonus combat feat. In other words, instead of gaining an additional skill or HP point at every level, you can gain one bonus feat every six levels.

No, you gain exactly what it says: ⅙ of a combat feat.

Of course, ⅙ of a combat feat doesn't actually do anything at all, so you need take the favored class bonus 6 times, at which point you have one full combat feat to take.

so in the end you would gain 3 combat feat. "Max level 20"

that seems to put a damper on human Warpriests when you could have 20 skills/HP over 3 feats.

Correct. If the game ends up going to at least 18, you would gain 3 bonus combat feats.

Favored class bonuses aren't always good. If you don't like it, just take the skills or HP. Nothing is forcing you to take the human-specific bonus.

Though, it should be said that getting +20 HP is easily done by getting the Toughness feat. If you are playing long-term, it certainly provides more benefit than just going for the HP every level.

Though you could use it to pick up a combat feat you would pick up at 7th level, then use that open feat slot to pick up Toughness, which grants you... up to 20 HP. For the cost of one feat. It's a trade-off, though, because Toughness is significantly more effective at level 1 and degrades a bit once Con boosts start popping up in your spell list and Toughness doesn't give 3x your level in HP (which it does at 1st level).

So far my Warpriest is the following

str-14
dex-10
con-14
int-10
wis-16
cha-10

Few questions:

For the bonus feat do you need prerequisites like normal feats?
Do you lose anything if you select domains that are not of your deity?
He will be a wield a two-handed weapon. I was thinking the Earthbreaker, any other suggestions?

I was thinking strength and heal for the domains.

1. You must meet prereqs.

2. It doesn't say anywhere that you can select blessings that aren't granted by your deity. However, ask your GM if there's a thematically appropriate blessing that you really want to take.
3. Greatsword is mechanically the best. Earthbreaker is fine. Falchion becomes better than Greatsword at higher levels. Scythe is pretty cool for its crit multiplier, and if you have a good team build, you can hit for a lot. If you're willing to spend a feat for exotic weapons, a Large Katana with Effortless Lace is pretty cool. So is the Fauchard. For flavor, look at the Gnomish Battle Ladder.

Edit:

Cha is at 14 as well

1) Yes you still need to me prerequisites.

2) Since you're a warpriest, I assume you mean blessings. You're not allowed to select blessings that are not of your deity unless you have an ability that allows you to or you get GM permission.

3) Earthbreaker is a fine 2h weapon for straight damage.

The Repose minor blessing is pretty good, because once you can quicken (quicken spell-like ability) it and hit a guy with it twice in one turn, you can make him fall asleep with no save. Granted, some enemies are immune to that, but it's a neat combo.
